Customers of Northwest Renewables have generally been satisfied with the company's services. Most people said the service was of great quality, with skilled personnel and short response times. Numerous clients also praised the reasonable and fair price as well as the extensive selection of renewable energy items on offer. Some people have, however, voiced concerns about the customer support personnel, pointing out a lack of timeliness and expertise. However, for individuals wishing to invest in renewable energy, Northwest Renewables seems to be a trustworthy and reputable organization.
"Really, I never really used them; I only tried to. I asked for very specific work to be done, including the construction of a solar electricity system and a heat pump to provide primary heating for my home. I was promised that the solar system and HVAC will both be evaluated during the site visit. However, when the agent arrived, he informed me that they do not retrofit older homes with heat pumps. That much was made obvious by him. I was taken aback by the fact that nobody had taken care of the heat pump installation I had asked for. Since the opaque nature of the company's communication was not to my liking, it was inevitable that I would be unable to employ its services for my subsequent projects." - Ian G.
"The inverter that Offset Solar had installed for me stopped working. After reaching out to Northwest Renewables for help, I was assured that I would hear back from someone there quickly. I waited a week before calling again, and this time I was connected to a project manager. I gave him all the data he needed to inspect my system and request replacement components from SolarEdge under warranty. When I hadn't heard back from PCI Renewables after over two weeks of emails and phone calls, I finally gave up and called them. They were able to remotely identify the problem and obtain replacement components under warranty in a matter of hours. When I reached out to Northwest Renewables, I was informed that I would have to wait at least two months for assistance. Because Northwest Renewables didn't tell me they couldn't assist me, I missed three weeks of productivity in an otherwise bright July. Offset Solar and Northwest Renewables both give the impression that the Spokane solar business is very unstable." - Adam J.
"Educative, but far too insistent. I sought an insurance quotation since someone took my off-the-grid setup. They mentioned a three-week wait for a quotation. We just required a price for the solar system that provides our acreage's fresh water. Many people suggested that I investigate a grid tie system, and I finally gave in. You can't assume that they won't try to persuade you of their viewpoints to make a sale. They insisted on a grid hookup that may pay for itself in 7 years, even though I was already off the grid and not paying for electricity. A system with 13 kilowatts of power for around $40,000. Not interested." - Diego S.
"A long time to get going. The process of turning on the systems was lengthy, is still incomplete, and the final paperwork was never received. It's been a year and a half since I first began this process, and I still don't have the necessary documents to begin filing my tax return. The person I've been working with is kind and responsive, but the firm has yet to deliver on any of her promises. I suppose the fact that they billed me instantly is enough for them." - Nathaniel B.
"Okay, so first the positives. Both the panels and the system perform well. My monthly energy costs are minimal... For the reasons below, however, I am unable to endorse this business. Despite assurances that the mismatched stucco touch-up paint would be replaced, it never was. Second, I was assured that the damaged tiles on the roof would be fixed as soon as possible after I saw them. Nothing except excuses after all these months. My bad, I paid for the whole thing. Consumers should exercise caution." - Brody G.
"Because of their openness about their pricing, eagerness to answer our queries, and proximity to our home, we decided to work with Northwest Renewables on our solar installation. The crew's professionalism and friendly demeanor made for a smooth start to our collaboration. They were great at communicating updates and overall project management. The outcome is fantastic, in our opinion. In general, we award them a "gold star"!" - Xavier R.
"Our house now has an 8kW solar PV system (20 panels) and a Mitsubishi 5-zone ductless system, all of which were installed by NW Renewables. We've worked with a number of contractors over the years, and NW Renewables is among the finest we've ever dealt with. Planning the renovation and deciding on the best alternatives for our house, they were very knowledgeable and competent. They planned ahead to ensure a seamless installation and a successful project under budget by carefully designing and sizing the systems. The construction teams were wonderful to deal with, and we appreciated the care they took to complete the job correctly. Wall units positioned on inside walls posed unique challenges that need creative solutions and adroit line set installation, but NW Renewables made it seem easy. Both the PV and Ductless installs are gorgeous, and the system performance has been fantastic. I cannot speak highly enough of them." - Luis N.
"To meet our heating and electrical demands, we had a 32-panel solar array constructed by NW Renewables in the spring of 2022. This was a great firm to work with: they were responsive to my questions, flexible with my schedule, and did a beautiful job installing my solar panels. The first step was a site inspection to determine whether or not the roofs of our homes were sunny enough to install solar panels. Based on our past power use and projected future needs with an electric heat pump and electric car, their engineer collaborated with us to create a solar installation package that was both comprehensive and straightforward (even for a non-technical person). The net metering program in Washington state was a great investment for our house and a positive step toward a more sustainable future. Connected to your home's wifi, you can keep an eye on your system and marvel at the kilowatt-hours it generates. Our electric provider in Washington State ends net metering on March 30th, thus our maximum solar output months have only gotten us through January. Many dog-walkers stop by, and I like demonstrating our facility to them." - Sebastian H.
"We had a wonderful experience working with this firm. They were communicative and skilled, and their final result, which included an attractive interface for the electrical panel, looked great. We believe we received our money's worth, and we're extremely delighted to be "doing the right thing" with our solar array, but I can't provide an exact rating of the relative value since I didn't shop around much (and in reality, there is not much competition in our region)." - Henry K.
"When my new home was being built, I was really interested in installing a solar array on the roof but I knew very little about how to go about it. My property in Sandpoint, Idaho was lucky enough to have Northwest Renewables in Spokane take care of everything from system design to final certification. Since August 2019, the system has been accessible online. My argument for switching to an electric vehicle from a gas-powered one has strengthened after a complete fiscal year of net metering." - Aidan W.
