While the technology seems to work well, the overall process has been stressful for some clients. However, one client mentioned that after some initial communication issues, their account rep Michel Lant was great, indicating that the company may be taking steps to improve customer service. Overall, reviews are mixed and potential customers should carefully consider their options and do their due diligence before choosing Blue Sky Solar.
"The project got underway in July 2022. It was installed in January 2023, however as of February 2023, it is still not in use. The system is still not functioning despite the fact that inspectors had to visit us THREE TIMES. Was misled into believing that the contract wouldn't begin until the system was operational, not after it had been installed. This was false. No two months of free power, etc., thus. My calls to the company have gone unanswered. I've reached the stage where I'm really considering hiring a lawyer. To construct your solar system, choose someone else." - Daniel pryor
"Our system was put in a little more than a year ago. Their salesman Rick misrepresented to us the benefits of the system and the tax benefits. From September to May, our electricity bill has not changed since he sold us a system that was too tiny. In June, July, and August, we made some financial gains. Since then, they have claimed that they would make it up by giving me new panels, which have been lying in my driveway for weeks due to the fact that they bought all the incorrect attachment components, just like they did during the first installation. In an effort to make up for this blunder, the business owner then VENMO'd me our electricity bill for two months. Due to improper installation, the power provider denied their request three times to switch on the system. We now have lawyers and the Energy Trust of Oregon engaged after a terrible experience. Even if it costs a bit extra, go for a business that has greater expertise." - Tyra
"We picked Blue Sky Solar after responding to an ad and having a great sales conversation. Everything went awry once the project started. I detected two office clerical mistakes that lowered our federal tax credit. The installation crew was late and failed the County electrical inspection due to equipment shortages. They returned to make improvements but failed inspection again. Installation took almost a month. The office staff seems to put off paperwork until the last minute and then contact the client the following day for details. After stating their "great track record" of winning funds, we were quite underwhelmed and did not receive such grant, which was a big selling factor during their presentation. The technology works, but the process was stressful and poorly managed." - Caleb
"This is the worst business I have ever dealt with. I erected solar panels, obtained two loans for us, and made false claims about federal government rebates and excess energy payments from FPL. The business has a habit of lying. The employee is let go in the same way that the president does. Tom Clark, the president, is a wretched thief. If you don't want to lose money, please avoid dealing with the firm." - Krishna B.
"Worst business ever. Even after we have notified their call center that we are not interested, they continue to phone our house every ten minutes for days on end. Speaking with a supervisor at the contact center, they promised no further calls will come in, but guess what? they recommenced. This is straightforward harassment. Why should we and they squander time? Why are these people such idiots? business activities that are abhorrent. I wouldn't purchase a solar system from this business, much less a nut and bolt. Stay away from." - Margie K.
"Starting from the beginning and continuing to the current stage. I would rate you 4.8 out of 5 stars for everything! Bravo. had some communication problems once the deal was completed. Having said that, Michele Lunt took over as our Customer experience representative. She has raised the bar significantly. She has been amazing!" - Dan McCleery
"It was a pleasure working with Blue Sky Solar. They were by far the best pricing out of all the offers we received. Everything went well, from Todd in sales through Sammi and Megan assisting with the onboarding and answering all my concerns, Logan assisting with project management, and Michelle assisting after installation. Blue Sky is certainly recommended if you're thinking about getting solar." - Tyler Crosby
"I have only good things to say about my recent solar installation experience with Blue Sky Solar. They kept in touch with me at every turn. My unique incident necessitated the replacement and reinforcement of my whole roof. I chose a roofer based on their recommendations and couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. I haven't had my panels placed yet, so I can't yet comment on savings. I heartily endorse the Blue Sky team for your project." - Ginny
"My solar career started with a different firm. I made the decision to explore about, and I came across Blue Sky Solar. I am happy I did. The first meeting was superior to the other firm, and I decided. The communication was smooth throughout the whole process. I was constantly aware of what was happening, where my project was, and what needed to be done. The majority of the procedure was completed by email, with very few phone conversations. Since I work in cemeteries and could answer to emails more quickly than phone calls, I personally preferred it that way. The installation was finished in a day, the product is of the highest caliber, and the follow-up was finished promptly after. Blue Sky had everything well prepared and understood what they were doing. I had nothing to be concerned about. Overall, it was a fantastic experience with excellent communication and efficiency. Check out Blue Sky Solar if you're interested in solar!" - RB
"I had been considering solar. I was intrigued in my salesman's quote and explanation. He knew all the answers. Roof panels' appearance worries me. I watched solar houses. I didn't like your roof's tetris panels. My quotation and layout were great. A detached garage and house dormer received the panels. It's astonishing that the panels cover the whole roof. I also thought I could address installation questions. My installer finished swiftly without question. After changing the meter, I merely had to turn it on. One of my easier upgrades. I was updated through emails and calls on every stage. I endorse this firm. Very pleased customer." - Jill Sandberg
