However, the vast majority of clients are content with Citadel Roofing & Solar and enthusiastically endorse their solutions.
"In my view, you can't put your faith in this firm. Myself and a few of my friends were looking forward to taking advantage of the SGIG program and having Tesla power walls installed. Their sales representative told me the batteries were on back order and that PG&E had altered the amount I would be compensated after I waited for months. Mr. Daniel likewise had no problem with my paying full price. Maybe what said was accurate, but when he urged me to fake sleep apnea so that I could get the Powerwalls, that went too far. He asked at least three of my pals to do the same thing. If I had complied with his request, I would have committed fraud and conspiracy. Therefore, I am sounding the alarm and reporting this unethical behavior to the relevant State departments. Also, Citadel Roofing and Solar obtained a permit to do work on my property, but they refused to cancel the permit with the county when I decided not to have them do the work after they changed the deal." - Randy C.
"Citadel Roofing and Solar: A Company to Avoid. Citadel was to install solar panels for me in August 2020, per our agreement. I was informed I required a new roof after being assured for two months that my current roof was undergoing a site plan assessment. Earlier this year, I was fortunate enough to find the group, who installed my solar panels and provided me with a roof guarantee." - Nikhil D.
"A very helpful sales rep was a major factor in my decision to have Citadel install solar panels in August. The aftermath, however, has been quite stressful, which is the last thing anybody needs during this epidemic. They didn't communicate among themselves, as other individuals had pointed out. I received many messages with incorrect dates. My panels are scheduled to be installed today, and after hundreds of calls, I have confirmation from three separate people/groups. What do you know, no one showed up!!!!! So far, my experience has taught me to bite my nails and anticipate a very lengthy wait before anything worthwhile occurs in the Bay region. They presumably simply care about cutting down on their number of trips, not caring how twisted up the consumer is. I still have the agreement with them and can only hope that the next date they provide me is a genuine one." - Jack D.
"After much research and consideration, I decided that Citadel was the best choice. They have failed at every turn in terms of implementation. My roof now leaks every time it rains because to delays and misunderstandings between their sales and operations teams. Unfortunately, everyone I've suggested Citadel to thus far has run across similar problems. Citadel's response times to problems have been quite poor, and I now worry that I may end up spending more on solar energy than I would have saved. I thought I could put my faith in this business due of its track record of excellence in roofing, however they've also failed miserably in fixing our roof. Citadel is not in the top tier of solar panel installation companies." - Patrick S.
"Awful worst-case scenario the worst companies I've ever dealt with, and not just because they're sexist and misogynistic; I've been fighting with them for years to get assistance with the solar panels they installed on my new home, and no one has helped me. The CEO is very dismissive, saying things like, "You're the one that supposed to figure it out on your own." Sunrun has also been useless, therefore I'll be posting a warning that you should never work for them or utilize their services (especially if you're already on the Do Not Call list)!" - Eric P.
"My wife and I are really pleased with our solar panel installation by Citadel. Citadel started pulling the permission as soon as we decided to use them, even though we were still finalizing the paperwork. The paperwork and permission were finalized in a matter of days, and the installation itself took just a single day. The next step was to arrange for City and PG&E inspection permission and send someone to the site to show the inspector around. When others predicted it would take a month, we were done in about a week and a half. We were so pleased with the work they did for us, we had them install gutters today. Really Appreciate It, Citadel!" - Joshua H.
"In July of 2020, I had Citadel install solar panels for me. From day one until my last day, I loved interacting with the company's staff. Extremely competent and informative; I felt like I was getting accurate information. I have nothing but positive things to say about my time here." - Pankaj E.
"These guys know what they're doing, for sure. From beginning to end, everything went well, and for that I am grateful. My sales rep, did a fantastic job of arranging everything. Throughout this whole project, Nilsa was my go-to Project Coordinator. She was terrific, and she kept in touch with me on a weekly basis to update me on progress. I had solar panels installed, as well as a Tesla battery. The two people who came to handle the installation were great; they were efficient, thorough, and professional throughout the whole process. The design and functionality are superb. The Napa City Inspector and PG&E both gave their approval without any issues. This is top-notch work. I have installed two apps on my phone to keep track of my solar power system, battery life, and energy use. This is awesome and will be a great help to me and my loved ones. The work of this organization is guaranteed, and it is of the highest quality. The product and process of this project have exceeded my highest expectations. For anybody thinking about going solar, Citadel Roofing and Solar comes very recommended from me. You'll be relieved you did it." - Steven F.
"We just moved into a brand-new house in Woodland, California. The solar panels weren't required to be purchased at closing since the house was deeded in 2020. We had Citadel install our solar panels since they were also constructing the roofing and solar panels in the new development. Everything was perfect; they delivered exactly what they promised, and their service was outstanding. Permits are submitted, you are connected to PG&E, you have access to the apps, and documentation is provided even after the solar panels have been installed. Then, they continue to communicate and monitor the situation. They are absolutely remarkable. I would have expected to pay around that much had I been obliged to acquire solar panels at the close of escrow." - Taylor K.
"After putting in a new standing seam metal roof, Citadel Roofing and Solar also put in a 7kW solar array. The price for the job was reasonable, and it was even lower than four other estimates I had gotten. Their sales team was really knowledgeable, accommodating, and fast to address my concerns. I also contacted a few happy consumers from the past. The project team met all of its deadlines and produced excellent results. In the Vacaville, California region, Citadel comes highly recommended from me." - Jacob E.
