"The system developed a joint leak in under a year. Someone was sent, and after inspecting the system, he claimed to have corrected it. After waiting for almost 6 months, the leaks returned. I called, only to be told the warranty had run out. The cost of repairs is $100/hour. A Brother of mine is a reformed contractor. We went to check out the alleged joint. The damage was fixed by slathering adhesive on the pipe's outside. It was doomed from the start. We disassembled the part and reassembled it. Since I need a new roof now, Compass is demanding more than $6,000 to remove and reinstall the system. I'm going to ditch their system in favor of one from a more renowned provider. My issues persist after having had the system serviced on many times and having had an inverter changed. I don't understand why you can't seem to resolve the problems. After the fact, I discovered that Baldwin EMC, my local utility, mandated me to buy a $1,000,000 PLC that covers "damage to the grid/loss of life" in the event of an accident. We all know the utility is only trying to protect its bottom line by imposing this demand. I've been looking for an insurer to provide this coverage for the last 6 weeks with no luck. To make an informed decision, I required this information. Without solar panels, I have a $24,000 roof decoration. "From the first estimate through the completed work, I was impressed. I had a little problem with one of their employees who was dispatched to my location to install a new system update. The business owner checked his work and personally reacted to my concerns. After more than three years of uninterrupted service, we can confidently say that this technology is bulletproof. In the summer, I have more hot water than I can use. In the winter, more heating is required. The Florida State Rebate Program was the only serious issue, and this was not the result of any actions taken by Compass. The state refund that had been promised to me was never fully paid out because they ran out of money. As promised, Gulf Power promptly issued the refund." - Charles G.
