When I contacted them to find out where they were, they explained that they couldn't make it because their child was sick. While I understand that unexpected situations can arise, having to chase them down for updates was inconvenient. I eventually decided to hire another company to install my charger, and I am pleased to report that it works flawlessly. As the first anniversary of my solar system installation approaches, I am disappointed to report that electricity production has fallen short of the promised amount by 60%. The difference cannot be attributed to external factors such as weather or other variables, making it a significant departure from the original estimate. As a result, I am still paying partial electric bills despite being promised a system that would reduce my ComEd bill to almost nothing for the entire year. When they quoted me the upfront cost and rebates from state and federal programs, the solar panel company failed to inform me about the taxable status of the state rebate. I didn't realize it until the following year when they called and asked for my social security number in order to send me a 1099 and informed me that I would be paying taxes on the state rebate. This caught me off guard because I was expecting a larger rebate due to the additional tax. In essence, the money I received from the state was significantly less than the amount stated by the solar panel company. - Everett W.
This business is a farce. They sold me a $30,000 system that claimed to generate 85% of my energy. I'll consider myself lucky if it produces 20% within a month. They gave me an initial quote, then raised the price by $900 because I needed additional roof support. They only added about 30 2x4s to my joists. They drilled about 6 holes in my ceiling while they were in my attic. The way they cut those boards was the best. One of their employee's karate kicked the boards with their foot. When I showed the owner the video of his employee, he said he was just strutting for another employee. They used their ladders to mark the side of my house. Once they had my money, I realized they had duped me. The best part is yet to come. They installed my system about three years ago, and now I'm getting emails saying that my system is out of date and that I need a new inverter to keep it running. It is $520. GRNE installed an 8.0 KWP system with a 9.8 KWH LG battery backup system for me in September 2019. Due to my location in unincorporated Cook County, obtaining a permit from CC Building and Zoning took about 3 months. GRNE installed the system quickly and immediately resolved minor issues. The work of their licensed electricians impressed the Cook County inspector. When I needed to change the programming of my batteries, SolarEdge was unresponsive, but GRNE tested various programs on my system and programmed it as needed. Ed, the project manager, is often busy, but Ryan, our salesman, is always available. SREC refunds are handled by GRNE, and I highly recommend their enthusiastic team. - Oscar С.
