"Get the heck away from this firm. Whatever happened to them, they are no longer the reliable business they used to be. They originally installed the system, but we paid them to take it down and put it back up as part of a remodel. The price was high, but in line with similar offerings. The first team of technicians sent to re-install the system bungled the wiring and fried our inverter. They then spent the next 10 attempts at fixing the problems destroying additional equipment (including a second inverter) along the way. In reality, each successive team of technicians that was brought in said they had no idea how it was connected. Three months of peak solar output were lost, and when I pushed for compensation, the owner said no because of "equipment malfunctions"—even though they spent months trying to pinpoint the source of the issue. They then hired a collections agency to come after me without warning while this disagreement was still open. This is the treatment they provide to regulars. You can choose to leave this organization or not; either way, you have alternatives." - Sean A.
"The PV system and roof were sold to us by Harvest Power. It's been five years since the roof was installed, and the leaks still haven't been fixed. They won't fix the problem until we pay more, and they're not budging on that. In addition, their PV service is inconsistent. For months, I've had to repeatedly call back for minor difficulties." - Harry P.
"I called and called, but they never answered. We hired them to replace our roof after being assured it had been completed, but a different contractor ended up doing the job. We cut down a gorgeous tree and were assured we would get full compensation. At tax time, we were assured a full refund would be sent. We will get a little bit more next year and a lot more the year after that. How annoying. The salesman was only a salesman. Didn't like the service and my power bill stayed the same." - Larry E.
"In 2019, when I first met with the salesperson to discuss the solar system, I asked if my roof size would be sufficient to cover my electric bill in full. She assured me that it would, and I pointed out that more than three other companies had told me that I could expect no more than 80% coverage. As for the second issue, even though annual output was guaranteed in the agreement, I am only able to generate about 10,000 kilowatt hours per year. In sum, I was promised too much and received too little from my system, despite repeated attempts to contact the firm's sales, company, customer support, and even management. This was a terrible ordeal. The sales manager informed me, "Make it valuable for both of us; we can give you additional panels, and we can cover some of them," after I had declined their first offer of discounted additional panels due to my status as a new client. He made two offers: the first was for $6,000 for 10 panels, to which I readily accepted; the second was for $6,000 for 7 panels, to which I countered with 8 panels, and he again declined. They're totally pointless and silly. To learn my legal options, I intend to retain counsel. At least 14,000 kilowatt hours per year was guaranteed to me when I signed the contract, and I need extra panels in order to meet that goal and pay off my energy bill." - Chris N.
"If they had phoned me back, I may have given them a better review. Do not expect a call back if you need maintenance on a system installed by a firm that is no longer in business but used a Sunpower panel. I called for help four times. There was no return call. At the end of the month's time. Every time we try to make an appointment, they say we'll call you back by tonight. If I receive a call, I will most certainly revise my rating. I really doubt that." - Gabriel H.
"In a word, Dean rocked. I bought solar panels from Harvest, and he was really helpful, and I got a good deal. It didn't take long to submit my application. The installers were the epitome of competence. Dean checked in to make sure everything was going swimmingly along the way, and the service staff were as kind as could be. I asked for assistance finishing up the permission paperwork, and they immediately responded. Everything went well, the output matches the estimate, and my new monthly energy and heating costs are under $12! Fantastic!" - Johnny P.
"Some solar businesses approached me while I was considering solar energy some years ago. One of the four firms that came to my house was Harvest Solar. The sales guy they provided, was fantastic. My wife and I both liked him a lot that day. He was very informative and detailed in his description of the solar installation procedure and its advantages. They provided me with an excellent option so that I could make an informed choice. When I compared their product to that of the other firms that had approached me, the decision was easy. Choosing Harvest Power was a no-brainer, and I couldn't be happier with it. After years of thought, I finally decided to make the switch to solar power, and I couldn't have chosen a better decision than Harvest. In addition, leasing is not an option at Harvest, which is why I advise purchasing." - Evan T.
"We made the switch to solar power in the midst of the epidemic. Only through phone, text, and email did we interact with Mike at Harvest Power. The work here was simple. Mike was really helpful in guiding me through the process. There were a few hiccups along the process (misalignment between loan and system cost, refusal of necessary permits), but Harvest was there to help us every step of the way. Since the launch of the system at the start of September, we have not been able to collect any credits. Despite this, the total cost of the solar panels is less than what I was spending for electricity before. Positive impression gained overall." - Henry D.
"Our new roof and solar panel system from Harvest Power were installed in August of 2020. My wife and I are quite happy with the installation, which they executed to perfection. My wife and I found our salesman, to be really helpful and knowledgable about the product, guiding us to the best possible choice for our house. He remained in touch with us at every stage, and he was always forthright and thorough when answering our queries. Both Harvest Power come highly recommended from me if you're thinking about installing solar panels." - Abhishek S.
"Harvest is who I bought a 50 kilowatt rooftop system from. Their installation was top-notch, they dealt with the client and me (the owner) with the utmost professionalism, and they were able to overcome delays with the utility companies without missing a beat. Energy is being generated, and projections for output have been met. I'd suggest hiring them if you're in the New York or Boston area." - Kaleb W.
