Hooked on Solar online reputation
SunPower by Hooked on Solar is a top solar power supplier. They provide solar panel installation, energy storage, maintenance, and more. Their customer service and goods are regularly praised online. Installing, price, and system efficiency are typically praised by customers. They also praise the company's technicians' skills. SunPower by Hooked on Solar provides reliable solar power solutions, and their internet reviews show customer satisfaction."I spoke with Hooked on Solar through email to discuss my needs and get a price quotation. Then they phoned me out of the blue and requested I schedule an hour-long Zoom session with them before they would provide me any contact information. Having done one of these with SunPower directly and a few others, I was familiar with the product and solar in general, so this was unpleasant. Still, I gave in since I was interested in seeing their quote. My takeaway from the conversation was, "Well, alright, when can we plan it?" We're open 9-6, Monday through Saturday. "Well, what about right now?" "Oh no, sir, it must be booked in advance." (Tuesday AM). Fine, then recommend a time. We're open from 9-6, Monday through Saturday. "How about today at 11:30 a.m.?" "Sir, we need more lead time. Can you try again at another time? Because I clearly don't know how much time you need, could you simply propose a time? We're open from 9-6, Monday through Saturday. Because you've ignored both of my previous suggestions, "Christ, buddy, that's plainly not accurate." "Sir, it's clear that you're not the kind of client we're looking for." Instead of offering a time for this necessary Zoom meeting, he abruptly hung up on me. Incredibly unprofessional." - David G.
"Worst customer service I've ever experienced! I bought their rooftop solar panel setup. Under the solar support posts, a leak has occurred and is worsening. Throughout the last month, I've made many attempts to get in touch with them. They said someone will come to look at it on 01/22 between 10 and 12 AM, but no one showed up. I have phoned them repeatedly and patiently tried to get another appointment. They assured me that Taylor will get in touch with me to resolve the matter, but she never did. I have the warranty agreement in my hands, and I am really dissatisfied with their support. Hooked on Solar has our faith that they will follow through with their pledge to resolve any difficulties that may emerge with the solar system after the consumer has signed up for it. As far as I can tell, Hooked on Solar is not making any effort to collaborate with me to find a solution to the problem. It's started pouring again, and I'm becoming anxious. I've been trying to reach out to them, but it hasn't gone anywhere; now I may have to resort to legislative action, which is a last resort. I wanted to warn others about my experience with Hooked on Solar before they made the same mistake I did. If you look at the past reviews, you'll see that I'm not the only one who has had trouble getting in touch with them." - Jason T.
"The installation staff and salesperson were both helpful and kind. The follow-up man was unable to get the system working after I passed the inspection. He returned the next day and, according to his report to his superior, by the time they departed, six of the sixteen panels were operational. I knew they'd be back. It's been nearly two weeks since then. They haven't written back or been in touch. The salesperson dropped me a package of "swag" for me today. No thanks, I just need my setup to function properly." - Kane D.
"Although Hooked on Solar was more expensive than some of the other quotations we received, we ultimately decided to go with them since they had their own installation crew. Well, what a silly thing to say. During the installation, their electrician accidentally surged our house, blowing out our lights, pool pump, garage door opener, and other expensive appliances. Although the team has covered the cost of the replacements, it has been two months and we are still waiting for an answer to our almost weekly calls asking when someone would come to fix our house. For the last two months, we have been unable to access our garage. No new appliances have been set up yet. Even though the app to track product usage wasn't initially functioning correctly because of an error during installation, the company still hasn't painted our home from all the plaster they had to rip off and replace during installation, and their workmen left an absolute mess at our home that has yet to be painted or cleaned up. Overall, this has been a terrible ordeal. No one has gotten back to us about fixing our house. Warning to potential purchasers......" - Riken C.
"To provide a quote and address our queries, the salesperson visited us at home. He made an offer without first surveying our house, citing instead "his expertise." As an aside, he was only a youngster. He never once double-checked the controls or displays. I requested both a cash offer and credit options. I was given two quotes, one with a high-interest rate and a little funded amount, and another with a low-interest rate and a much larger financed amount—$12,000. This implies that the price of the system is directly proportional to your rate of interest. As the tax credit was calculated using the amount borrowed rather than the real cost, it looks like tax fraud has occurred. I asked for the system's cash price in an email, but haven't heard back." - Paul K.
"We inquired, spoke to other clients, and gathered quotations from other businesses. Sunpower, made by Hooked on Solar, was obviously the best option. Everything from the sales staff to the installation to the follow-up service was excellent. SunPower by Hooked on Solar has exceeded our expectations." - Taylor C.
"After 2 years of research, I have settled on the Hooked on Solar system. The service was first-rate all the way through, from the first meeting with a sales professional to the post-installation quality check. Every single employee I interacted with was not only kind but also highly knowledgeable about solar power. The quality of SunPower by Hooked on Solar was much above my expectations, and the installation took just around 7 hours. Tony and his assistant, thank you for taking the time to answer my questions." - Maximilian F.
"Both the equipment they presented (a 6.4 kW system with Sunpower panels) and the communication with the manager, a customer service representative, made us decide in favor of Hooked on Solar. At this point, we couldn't be more pleased with our decision. Great system performance after the first few weeks and excellent service throughout." - Jack B.
"Having had two Sun Power solar systems before, I was already quite confident in their products when I opted for Hooked on Solar. However, I also expected the service I would receive to be top-notch, and that was very important to me. I was not let down in the slightest. The members of the HOS team really got the job done. Henry was attentive and provided information from the beginning. The installation team was fast and neat and the office staff was just as competent. Henry always kept me informed and was even present at the installation to assist. Excellent effort. While HOS is not the cheapest option, I think it is the best in the long run (sales, service, product, and warranty). Thank you, Henry, and the rest of the HOS team." - Ian D.
"My salesman was a pleasure to deal with. He set up an appointment for me through Zoom and explained everything. He went into great detail about the functionality of the panels and Sunpower's 27-year warranty, which covers everything from the panels themselves to the labor to install the roof racks. The monitoring system was the only component with a long warranty period (10 years). After a long waiting period for approvals, the system was erected in just two weeks, passed the final inspection in just one week, and was connected to the grid by PG&E in a total of 25 days. Output power is high and system efficiency is high. Because the system uses microinverters, monitoring software allows the performance of each individual panel to be monitored." - Frank W.
