"I spoke with Hooked on Solar through email to discuss my needs and get a price quotation. Then they phoned me out of the blue and requested I schedule an hour-long Zoom session with them before they would provide me any contact information. Having done one of these with SunPower directly and a few others, I was familiar with the product and solar in general, so this was unpleasant. Still, I gave in since I was interested in seeing their quote. My takeaway from the conversation was, "Well, alright, when can we plan it?" We're open 9-6, Monday through Saturday. "Well, what about right now?" "Oh no, sir, it must be booked in advance." (Tuesday AM). Fine, then recommend a time. We're open from 9-6, Monday through Saturday. "How about today at 11:30 a.m.?" "Sir, we need more lead time. Can you try again at another time? Because I clearly don't know how much time you need, could you simply propose a time? We're open from 9-6, Monday through Saturday. Because you've ignored both of my previous suggestions, "Christ, buddy, that's plainly not accurate." "Sir, it's clear that you're not the kind of client we're looking for." Instead of offering a time for this necessary Zoom meeting, he abruptly hung up on me. Incredibly unprofessional." - David G.
"The worst customer care I've ever had! I purchased their solar panel system for the roof. There is a leak under the solar support posts that is becoming worse. I have made many efforts to contact them over the last month. They said that someone will examine it on January 22 between 10 and 12 AM, but nobody ever did. I have patiently attempted to schedule another appointment by calling them many times. They told me that Taylor will contact me to sort things out, but she never did. Now that I have the warranty agreement in my possession, I am rather unhappy with their assistance. We have confidence in Hooked on Solar to fulfill its promise to address any issues that may arise with the solar system after the customer has signed up for it. To the best of my knowledge, Hooked on Solar is not attempting to work with me to solve the issue. It's raining again, and I'm starting to get nervous. I've been attempting to contact them, but so far it hasn't been successful; as a last choice, I may now need to take legal action. I wanted to let others know about my Hooked on Solar experience so they wouldn't make the same mistake I did. You can tell that I'm not the only one who has had problems contacting them by reading through the other reviews." - Jason T.
"Both the salesman and the installation crew were polite and helpful. Even after I passed the inspection, the follow-up guy could not get the system to function. When he came back the next day, six out of the sixteen panels were working, based on his report to his supervisor. I anticipated their return. Almost two weeks have passed since then. They have not replied or communicated. Today, I received a bundle of "swag" from the salesman. Thank you, but I simply need my setup to work correctly." - Kane D.
"Despite the fact that Hooked on Solar's quote was more than some of the others we got, we chose to work with them since they had their own installation team. Oh my, what a dumb thing to say. Our lights, pool pump, garage door opener, and other costly items were all blown out when their electrician unintentionally overloaded our home during the installation. We have been calling practically weekly to inquire when someone will come repair our home, and even though the team paid for the replacements, it has been two months and we have not received a response. We haven't been allowed to enter our garage for the last two months. There are currently no new appliances installed. Even though the company's app for tracking product usage wasn't working properly at first due to an error that happened during installation, they still haven't painted our house because they had to tear off and replace so much plaster, and their workers left our house in a complete mess that still needs to be cleaned up and painted. It has been a horrible experience all around. About mending our home, nobody has responded to us. Attention prospective buyers: be careful." - Riken C.
"The salesman came to our house to answer our questions and gave us an estimate. He didn't examine our home before making an offer; instead, he used "his expertise." In any case, he was still a child. He never once examined the screens or controls twice. I asked about credit alternatives in addition to cash. Two quotations were sent to me; one had a high interest rate and a little funded amount, while the other had a low interest rate and a $12,000 greater funded amount. This suggests that the system's cost is closely correlated with your interest rate. It seems that tax fraud has happened since the tax credit was computed based on the amount borrowed rather than the actual cost. I sent an email requesting the cash pricing of the system, but I haven't heard back." - Paul K.
"We made inquiries, spoke with other customers, and obtained quotes from different companies. Without a doubt, Sunpower, produced by Hooked on Solar, was the greatest choice. Everything was first-rate, including the installation crew, salespeople, and after-sale support. Hooked on Solar's SunPower has surpassed our expectations." - Taylor C.
"I have finally decided on the Hooked on Solar system after two years of study. The whole experience—from the first consultation with a sales representative to the quality check after installation—was excellent. Every single individual I dealt with was not only very knowledgable about solar power but also extremely courteous. The installation of SunPower by Hooked on Solar took around 7 hours, and the quality was much beyond my expectations. I appreciate Tony and his aide taking the time to respond to my inquiries." - Maximilian F.
"Our decision to choose Hooked on Solar was influenced by their equipment (a 6.4 kW system with Sunpower panels) as well as our conversation with the manager, a customer care agent. Thus far, we are really happy with our choice. After a few weeks, the system performed very well, and the support was outstanding all along." - Jack B.
"I had previously purchased two Sun Power solar systems, so when I decided for Hooked on Solar, I felt very secure in their offerings. But, I also had high expectations for the quality of the service I would get, and that was crucial to me. I wasn't even remotely disappointed. The folks on the HOS team did a great job finishing the task. From the start, Henry paid attention and gave information. The office personnel was just as skilled as the installation crew, who worked quickly and neatly. Henry was there to help with the installation and constantly kept me updated. Outstanding work. In my opinion, HOS is the greatest choice in the long term (sales, service, product, and warranty), even if it is not the least expensive option. Henry and the rest of the HOS team, thank you." - Ian D.
"It was a joy working with my salesperson. He gave me an appointment through Zoom and went over everything. He explained in great detail how the panels worked and how Sunpower's 27-year guarantee covered everything—from the panels to the labor involved in installing the roof racks. The only part with a lengthy guarantee (10 years) was the monitoring system. Following a protracted permissions process, the system was installed in two weeks, passed the last inspection in one week, and took a total of 25 days for PG&E to connect it to the grid. Both system efficiency and output power are high. The system's usage of microinverters makes it possible to track each panel's performance individually thanks to monitoring software." - Frank W.
