NC Solar Now online reputation
NC Solar Now is the best solar energy company in North Carolina. Experienced professionals work hard to give customers the best. Customers praise their friendly staff, affordable prices, and consistent service. Customers like the variety and ease of installing solar energy. NC Solar Now helps clients meet energy goals and realize solar energy's benefits."The most morally bankrupt and openly dishonest people I've ever encountered. In June of 2021, I sold my home and consequently canceled my service. I was not allowed to turn it off. Several hundred dollars would be needed to relocate the existing NC Solar Now panel, and the new buyers were told this when they made their purchase. When we disputed the charges, NC Solar Now sent us two separate bills for the same address. I informed them of this, but they insisted on continuing to charge me for a service they clearly weren't able to provide because I hadn't properly terminated our contract. I asked why I hadn't been contacted about my overdue payment, and they said (without batting an eye) that they knew I no longer resided there and therefore couldn't send me paper notices." - Zachary M.
"This is without a doubt the worst customer service experience ever. Employees repeatedly assure customers that they will assist them and work to solve any issues, but do so without actually doing so. Even though they provide a phone number for customers to reach help, the automated messaging and routing system is a mess and often sends callers in the wrong direction. Most of the time, the system simply stops taking calls. NC Solar Now is NOT to be done business with." - Peter K.
"I wish I could rate them with 0 stars out of 5. The WORST people are these two. "Professional Installation," but NO. The person who came to set up our equipment was late by an hour and a half and said, "I'm sorry." What is "professional" about the fact that he left our house in a mess, wore clothes with holes in them, and didn't have everything he needed to install the equipment? He couldn't set up all of the equipment, so we had to make another appointment. The next day, he was so late that we had to call customer service and ask for someone else to come. They made plans for someone to come out the next day (Friday). When Friday comes, nobody shows up. I called customer service, but I got cut off more than once. They were not helpful and said there was no other installer who could come to our house." - Kyle L.
"NC Solar Now is just like old cell phone contracts that tie you down and take your firstborn. About 5 years ago, I bought the service. We sold our house 8 months ago. When we tried to have it installed at another home, the agent came and refused to do it. He said our equipment was very old and suggested we wait for NC Solar Now to ask us why we haven't re-installed it and then demand that we get newer cameras. Well, the call never came. When we called NC Solar Now, they didn't know we weren't even connected to that house and weren't using the monitoring or the equipment. And they didn't change anything. So, since I did sign a contract, I have been keeping my end of the deal by paying $77 every month until the contract is up. They wouldn't stop charging me $49 for the monitoring service because I had agreed to it. There was no way around it. We called on 4/25 to cancel our contract because we had to do so 30 days before the end of the contract on 5/27/2022. NC Solar Now said they couldn't cancel our service because we called 32 days before. So now we have to call back, wait on hold, and go through the whole song and dance of "Why are you canceling? We can hold for 12 months. We can offer better rates...blah blah blah." If you want to stay, they can do a lot for you, but if you are under contract, they won't give you new equipment, change your plan, or even fix their terrible website and login problems. Don't sign a contract with Vivint. It's better for you. It does NOT pay off. As others have said, another problem is that the system is often unavailable or offline, which was always a pain for us since we traveled a lot." - Ethan W.
"This company is either no longer in business or is closing down. Our tools don't work right. Technicians come to our house and try to figure out how things work by reading manuals for hours at a time. Nothing seems to work. Promises to come back the next day with the right tools, but never does and won't answer calls or texts. We've been waiting on hold for a long time. Several times while we were on hold, we were cut off. They make new appointments, and we take time off work to be there, but they don't show up. When we call, they say the appointment was canceled, but they don't know by whom. They are NOW DONE. RUN AWAY FROM HERE AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!!!" - Walter G.
"NC Solar Now is the best solar installer to work with from the beginning and onward. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. My experience was so great because they went above and beyond everything I had hoped for. Before I found NC Solar Now, I talked to four other solar companies. I kept looking because the other four couldn't or wouldn't answer all of my questions. When the NC Solar Now salesperson didn't know the answers to my questions, she had the Engineer call me and give me all the information I needed. The Engineer gave me his phone number and told me to call him back if I had any more questions. I'm an Amateur Radio Operator (HAM) and work with electricity and electronics on a regular basis, so my questions were a bit more in-depth about the system and each part being used. The 30% rebate for solar was recently brought back by the Federal Government (that is dollar for dollar back in your pocket). Duke Energy started a Solar Rebate Program for installations made in the past 90 days and installations that will be made in the future. NC Solar Now told me about Duke's program and sent me an email with a step-by-step video guide on how to fill out the application. They also sent the system information that was needed to fill out an application. The highest rating is five stars, but I'd give NC Solar Now 6 +++ stars. If you're still not sure, read online reviews of other companies and then read reviews of NC Solar Now. The company is nearby, which is another big plus. After all the paperwork was done, the installation was done in one day, and they cleaned up so well that you couldn't even tell they had been there. You could just go solar with NC Solar Now and save yourself some time. I'm hard to impress, but everyone I worked with went above and beyond what I expected. I'm a 20-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a 25-year veteran of CSXT as a locomotive engineer, an FAA-certified flight instructor for both single-engine and multi-engine planes, and more. I did my research on solar, and you can trust this company. The Enphase app is a great way to keep an eye on your system." - Aaron T.
"Once I made up my mind to actually go solar, "NC Solar Now" was one of the few companies I was interested in. Because I will not be climbing onto that extremely steep roof myself, I was hoping to find testimonials from satisfied clients attesting to the company's reliability in such situations. This crew did a great job communicating and collaborating with me as we worked through the various phases of the installation. Once, I had a preference that seemed impossible to achieve, but those guys didn't give up until they found a way. I wouldn't say I've been a customer for a long time, but I do feel confident in their ability to help me out in a pinch. I'm satisfied that my system was able to achieve the predicted results." - Jose D.
"Working with NC Solar Now was a fantastic experience for us. In a nutshell, they have a streamlined procedure that takes no time at all! We got a bunch of quotes and they were the most affordable AND they're in the area! We are happy with the panels' appearance and performance thus far. A solar system is a wise investment in these rapidly shifting times. Our salesman Adam provided excellent service." - Nathan F.
"This is a fantastic organization. Though I've dealt with a few different Solar companies, I can honestly say that this one is the most professional and customer-focused. NC Solar came out and installed solar panels on the Tesla Powerwall batteries. I couldn't believe they got everything done while hiding their identities behind masks and avoiding eye contact with one another. They have been accessible and quick to respond to my inquiries ever since the installation was completed. NC Solar is who I tell everyone to go to first. You will feel completely at ease discussing your requirements with them and will have no desire to seek assistance elsewhere. FYI, my power bills over the past two months have only been for my Grid connection. Twice in my area, there were power outages, but all I noticed was a brief flickering. Even though I was working from home, my computer stayed online." - Henry C.
"My roof needed to be replaced, so I had to take down and re-install my 30-module solar array. Although NC Solar Now wasn't the original installer, after talking to them about upgrading and fixing some technical issues I was having with my system, I felt confident that I had made the right choice. They helped me find the right components to upgrade my inverters and increase the size of my system to 38 modules. They also paid close attention to the tiniest of details, such as recommending end rail fittings, which gave my street-facing solar array a polished appearance. Their business operation was smooth sailing from the first contact to the final payment. They did a great job removing everything and putting it back together again, and they even took care of getting the necessary permits and coordinating with the utility company. The whole thing has left me feeling extremely fulfilled." - Douglas V.
