"Put someone else in charge of fixing their errors who has more principle and honesty. The choice to switch to NY State Solar was one I really regret, but I hate writing bad reviews. Not a wise financial choice, even with all the government aid and deductions, and maybe the worst endeavor I've ever undertaken. The decision was made based on incorrect information, and the problem was never resolved. There was some money thrown at me to help ease the blow, but other than that, the efforts to make me feel better about the conditions I ended up with were feeble. While I doubt it was on purpose, the fact remains that misleading information was provided, leading to a deceptive "bait and switch." When the go-ahead was formally granted, there were a plethora of additional problems to contend with. Many were inconsequential, and if it weren't for the more serious difficulties, I probably would have ignored or simply dealt with them. But, once there is much negativity, it is difficult to ignore and everything seems to be going wrong. To be fair and emphasize the good of the project, their work was clean otherwise, and people were generally nice to deal with. But, it is difficult to get over the fact that I am now trapped with a project that I would not have pursued had I been given enough information from the start." - Ben O.
"I really should have known better than to fall for a door-to-door salesman's spiel, but maybe you can learn from my blunder and avoid making the same mistake I did. DO NOT USE NEW YORK STATE SOLAR ENERGY. Instead of the dream that was promised, we've been living through a nightmare. Every every time, our system crashes. Suddenly, it stops talking to us. They blame our WiFi, claims NY State Solar. I am a remote worker. My spouse and I have both done remote work at various times. That is not my Wireless, believe me. They can't be trusted since they're dishonest and just care about making a profit. They treat you well and make you think they'll be around forever. Don't anticipate any more contact after signing the contract. My spouse had to send an angry email to their CEO and the Better Business Bureau. They have "corrected" the problem several times, yet it continues to reappear. I would change my decision to work with that solar firm if I could go back in time. Everyone we know is being warned to stay away." - Emma N.
""Buyer beware" I canceled my contract with NYSS because of all of their lies and to find out I now have a 30,000-dollar mechanic's lien on my home with no solar on my roof. They give you a 37-page contract to look at with nothing that is good for the consumer and all is good for the salesperson and the company. Their finance company is Mosaic Finance. Look on their web page for their reviews. Their reviews are bad, they have a total of 120 complaints." - John C.
"Two days after I submitted the website's contact form, a representative from the company phoned me. I was occupied with yard work on a Sunday afternoon, so we agreed to talk during the week instead. The scheduled appointment time has passed with no word. How can I put my faith in your business to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars if you can't even maintain a basic appointment like a phone call?" - Liam A.
"I scheduled a consultation with NY State Solar in East Meadow and left my contact information with him beforehand. I was assured that I would get some kind of communication if there were any problems. My wife and I waited for well over an hour, but no one ever arrived. Called the business, and was informed salesperson had been by and everything was OK, but that no one from management had shown up to meet with me. Later I was informed that they didn't really treat consumers that way. Imagine how they will treat you when they have your money if this is how they treat you as a prospective client. Ignore it. Inadequate attention to customers. Choose another solar energy firm that wants you and will treat you correctly; there are several to choose from." - Matthew J.
"The NYSSF team was wonderful to work with. After some haggling, they offered the best price, were open to discussing panel locations and selections, and everything was up and running within a week of getting the necessary approvals. Real-time power monitoring and reports on each panel are just two of the most interesting features of the sunpower app. Overall, and especially if you are considering a partnership with NYSSF, solar power is the way to go." - Casey D.
"The staff at the New York State Solar Farm deserves all the praise they get. From the initial planning stages to installation and any necessary follow-ups, they performed an excellent job. All along, they were in constant contact with one another by phone, text, and email. There are many moving parts, so it was helpful to have everyone on the team working together. After two months of using solar energy, we were blown away to see that our electricity bill had dropped to nothing." - Dio P.
"Our next-door neighbor, who had Evan from NYSSF install his SunPower system, was so pleased with the procedure that he recommended Evan to us. During the last several years, my wife and I have done many modifications and repairs to our house. Our experiences with contractors have been mixed, so we approached this project with cautious optimism. I am pleased (and somewhat relieved) to report that Evan and everyone on the NYSSF team much surpassed our expectations. Allyson seemed to be one step ahead of us in coordinating permitting, installation, inspection, and turn-up, almost anticipating our questions and providing nearly instant responses. In particular, the information Evan provided during the sales process was clear and easy to understand, and completing the financing paperwork online was simple and straightforward. The SunPower panels arrived on time, were installed in a single day, and look great. We're proud to be reducing our carbon footprint and helping the environment by reducing our reliance on the grid. We suggest getting in touch with NYSSF if you're interested in doing the same." - Kerry K.
"When it came time to set up the solar panels and the power walls, I coordinated with NYSSF. From the initial planning phases to the final inspection, I received thorough but painless guidance throughout the whole process. Even once the equipment is set up, I still get the same great service. My issues are addressed and fixed quickly and thoroughly. Definitely, a premium service provided by a cutting-edge firm." - Conor M.
"NYSSF prioritizes satisfying its customers with high-quality, cost-effective products and services. There's been no better time to go solar than now, with the growing cost of electricity, and they were constantly on top of things and made the process simple. They were incredibly helpful and flexible, replying to my emails and questions promptly and with a positive attitude. I cannot speak highly enough about NYSSF." - Barry S.
