Solar Bear online reputation

Client experiences with Solar Bear have been mostly favorable. The promptness of installation, the skill of sales representatives, and the efficiency of installers have all been highly appreciated by several customers with the company's services. Though there are a lot of bad evaluations as well, they mostly highlight poor panel installation quality, slow troubleshooting, and poor customer support. To guarantee a satisfying experience for every client, the business must undoubtedly enhance its work and customer service.
"Our firm will pay close attention till you sign the agreement. Solar Bear assured me that I would produce enough energy to offset my annual Duke Energy bill to the tune of only the customer service cost. Even after more than a year, my bills haven't gone down, and Solar Bear claims they botched the numbers and failed to provide enough panels. Overall, their customer service is terrible, and I was meant to hear back from the owner and our sales agent about our issue. Finally, after registering a complaint with the BBB, I heard back from them, indicating that their representative missed our backyard trees. Didn't see a forest in the backyard? As a result of this blunder, they have begun chopping down my trees. Customer service at an all-time low!" - Adam F.
"Choosing to sign with this firm was the worst choice I ever made. Unfortunately, we signed with Solar Bear which ended up costing us twice as much as originally stated. Such a fraudulent business!!! Don't sign any contracts with them!!!" - Frank K.
"2 Year Update on Solar Installation & Performance Solarbear analyzed my power consumption and calculated how many panels I needed to not pay an electric bill other than service costs. After 2 years, the promise of no electric bill never occurred. SolarBear placed lower-watt panels without my permission, according to my first evaluation. "Reach out to the distribution channels to find out when they would have the panels I paid for in stock," the owner informed me after many efforts to resolve the situation. My power bill skyrocketed four months ago. The power bill showed a drop in solar panel output. 20 panels had not been reported for over a month in the Emphase application. SolarBear arranged a Thursday service appointment two weeks after I contacted them. I stayed home on Thursday while SolarBear fixed the issue. The appointment was rescheduled for 5 pm on Thursday. When I informed the scheduler I had taken the day off, she apologized and said that the technician had to work on an emergency call on Monday, thus all appointments for the week had been pushed forward a day. The postponement was only announced at 4 pm on the day of the appointment. Due to availability, the service appointment was rescheduled again two weeks later. SolarBear took over two months to arrive at my property to fix a problem that's costing me money due to lesser solar output. The expert who addressed the issue said the problem was wiring, but I receive conflicting answers depending on who I asked. I still don't have my roof panels placed, and owner/service managers won't contact or email me. I stopped paying the solar loan to see if the solar financing business would assist remedy the situation, but nothing happened. Because I'm 3 months late on the loan, my credit is suffering. The whole procedure has failed. Avoid this solar business. My panels are still off after 6 months. If I get a good SolarBear employee, the meter shifting and equipment turn-on might take another 1-2 months. SolarBear did not install my contract-paid panels. Now they say I agreed with customer service on installing lower-quality panels over the phone. I discovered the lower-efficiency panels were placed when FPL listed the erroneous panels and an array with less than 5000KWh of what I paid for." - Luis G.
"About two months after the financing business was told that the project was "complete," it is still not up and operating. This is a terrible business that has no morals or ethics. If law enforcement agencies investigate them, maybe they'll get what's coming to them. There are other choices out there, so don't go with this firm. Avoid our misfortune and go with a different provider." - Oscar V.
"In 2019, Solar Bear installed solar panels on our roof, and the following year, they installed even more. Until the hurricanes and tropical storms a few weeks ago, we had not seen any significant precipitation. After the storms, we noticed significant leaks in our roof. Our attic is beginning to mold due to a leak, and we have pricey cedar ceilings that must be preserved. Solar Bear last year drilled a hole in the center of the roof and sloppily ran a pipe through it. As a result of my complaint, the pipe has been moved to the rear of the roof, where it is no longer in plain sight. They performed a terrible job fixing the roof (see pictures). Solar Bear has not returned my calls or responded to my emails for many weeks." - Nick P.
"My new Gaf shingle roof and solar panels are gorgeous, and I can't thank Solar Bear enough! My salesman was really helpful in guiding us to success. Installers were prompt and efficient knowledge and assistance were much appreciated. I'll be telling all my friends and family to get Solar Bear." - Erik D.
"I've been reluctant to consider solar panels since my average bill is ~$118/mo. What pushed me to consider in December was the planned Duke Energy rate increase of 12% and knowing that would be just the beginning. My plan was to meet with 3 companies. The first company that came out sized my system to 75% of my usage. ( i later learned they did an initial sizing of my neighbor at 150% of their average bill) Anna was the Solar Bear representative i met with. She was extremely knowledgeable and listened to what my needs were. There was no pressure, she let the reputation of the company and the product sell itself. I had a few questions that she provided answers to me the next day. I felt so comfortable, that I canceled the 3rd appointment and signed a contract with Solar Bear 3 days after the initial meeting. My solar panels were installed 15 days after I signed the contract. The Gold team was extremely professional and had my 17 panels installed in ~5 hours. Mary was my project manager and scheduled the inspections and pushed the paperwork through Duke Energy. Devin came out and loaded the latest software and turned on the system. I was impressed that he called me back later in the day to see how things were going. From the initial meeting to the system, turn-on was 90. A positive experience the entire time. If you are able, I strongly recommend you make some payments on your loan before your system is turned on. Accrual of interest starts the day installation is complete." - Colin P.
"Solar bear is an excellent choice, in my opinion. Nothing was ever hidden. Everything our salesperson, predicted would happen, did happen. Riken, who finished off our voyage by removing and replacing the foam insulation and installing the solar panels, was also fantastic. We give Solar Bear an A+. They have earned it." - Tony A.
"Solar Bear just finished installing our solar panels. It all exceeded our wildest expectations. Our salesman, and all the installers we worked with, were excellent in every way. Solar Bear also counted my sister and her child as their customers. We are all looking forward to lowering our energy costs. I am grateful to you, Solar Bear." - Marco B.
"Solarbear was wonderful to work with. They handled the HOA without any problems. Spray foam made such a difference. Installing a solar panel is such peace of mind with future bills. Batteries give us peace of mind that we will have energy no matter what!!! When our final system was installed, the guys made sure I knew all the nuances and made sure I was comfortable with the system." - Juan G.
