Solar Gain review

"It's been a whole year since I bought the system in December 2021. Once the technology was deployed, they stopped responding to my calls. Then they have me going in circles about the license. Permits have been late getting to the township for the fourth time, and no one has been able to explain why. After a year, I'm still stuck with a useless piece of metal on my roof, and the loan company says it's none of their business since the panels are up there." - Gregory F.

"It was first explained to me that the system would "credit" any overages from months with lower consumption to those with higher usage. Then I learned that the system will only provide 70% coverage as originally planned. We made it clear to the salesperson that we weren't interested in moving forward until all of our questions were answered. I contacted the business today and talked with Justin, who is unpleasant, talks over you, and argues. Then, to coerce me into signing a new contract, they threatened to charge me cancellation costs equal to the whole value of the old deal. I've contacted the state's attorney general and plan to disseminate this review widely in the hopes of warning even a single person away from doing business with this deplorable organization. The documents I was forced to sign are not the originals, and I have copies of both." - Brandon K.

"Do not sign any contracts with Solar Gain; the firm is a liar. If you must pay PPL bills, pay them for a longer period of time even if it means paying more overall, but do not get trapped with Solar Gain. I'll give you an example to help you grasp my predicament. Since we all shared an apartment, our monthly housing costs were about $386–$424. My wife and I decided to go solar after talking about it, so I contacted Solar Gain, and since then, we've been paying two bills every month (for the solar panel and the power company) instead of just one. I'm trapped in here since our solar panel won't turn on. My sincere recommendation is that no one get into any agreement with the Solar Gain firm." - Ravi U.

"It's not good if you're the one who always has to be the one to ask questions and obtain the answers. That's where Solar Gain really falls short, however. Even though we finalized the agreement in May, we have yet to begin utilizing our solar panels. It took almost five months to have the solar panels installed. The city's approval of the plans is pending a rewrite of the documents due to discrepancies between what Solar Gain promised and what was actually accomplished on the roof. My primary gripe is the general air of "well, we are working on it..." that pervades the situation. If I had it to do again, I would have chosen a different firm. It's on me for not checking into it more; you should, too." - Dennis J.

"This firm is a fraud. Although I paid for a 5.2 kilowatt system, I was only given a 4.6 kilowatt system. Solar Gain filed permission with the utility to put the meter before the install was inspected by the municipality, therefore it's been eight months after the panels were installed and we're still waiting for permits/meter setup etc. The delay is understandable given that Solar Gain only receives 70% of the loaned amount after the panels have been deployed. I haven't been reimbursed for my loan payments (which are supposed to begin once the panels are installed) and they still say they're "contacting the accounting department" to find out what's taking so long. What at first seemed to be extreme ineptitude turned out to be deception." - Cameron H.
