Sun First Solar online reputation

Sun First Solar clients have had a generally pleasant experience with the company. The staff's assistance and expertise were widely praised by those who dealt with them. The vast majority of customers were also satisfied with the hardware and setup. However, there have been some consumer complaints regarding the high prices and long wait times for technicians. However, the vast majority of Sun First Solar's clients are pleased with the service they've gotten and their entire experience.
"They were horrible; they wrecked six roofs by not listening to instructions and not being ready to make amends. We enlisted Sun First to install a sizable array over our commercial office condo. Our building was the only one they didn't install panels on with the rest of the owners. They attempted to use even our building association against us and showed no remorse for or willingness to rectify the error they created. A new solar installer was needed to move the panels, and a commercial roofer was called in to repair the damage to the roofs of six neighbors. Cleanup after just three months of damage took fifteen. We lost almost $8,000 on electricity generation, another $8,000 on roofing hole repair, and the ire of our neighbors. To top it all off, the new solar contractor utilized non-penetrating ballasts that didn't even need to go through the roof. The usage of ballasts was never a possibility with Sun First. The cost was excessive, too. There is zero acknowledgment of any wrongdoing or shady dealings on their part. Avoid doing business with them." - Keven A.
"Panels were placed but the grid connection was overlooked. Two and a half years later, they still shirk accountability and pass the buck to a different firm. Moreover, PG&E doesn't give us credit for the panels since they weren't aware of their existence." - Hector O.
"When I first hired them, everything seemed OK with the solar panel installation on my roof. We had little trouble reaching an agreement with their estimate on the few wiggle room elements included in a solar installation. Then for a long time, I didn't hear anything. They finished up, and I still don't have a working monitoring system, but here are the designs we neglected to talk about with you and the conduit routes we didn't really think about. Every month, I send PG&E my power bill. To this day, I can't say for sure why I decided on this firm. My repeated emails have gone unanswered, and I can see that they are no longer interested in completing the installation now that the fundamental phase is complete and they have 75% of my payment. The panels and wiring were expertly installed and wired, but otherwise the procedure has been a nightmare." - Gary T.
"The problems with my installation were eventually fixed when Sun Power stepped up and paid the extra cost of the local electrician. However, Sun First never got back to me. Again, their team was fantastic, but they were clearly stretched too thin. I'm crossing my fingers that the headquarters personnel is more helpful to them and other consumers in the future." - Carlos J.
"Their salesman will completely lie to you to make the sale. Payments are higher than stated and higher than my electric bill ever was. He lied about a tax rebate we could put toward paying the panels off. Could not get a hold of anyone to cancel in time. Very predatory and shady practices and I've seen others post the same issues in my area." - Ross M.
"Our solar pool heating system located on the ground had just finished being installed by Sun First Solar. It was a joy to work Sun First. Everything about the design process was easy. Henry was helpful, patient, and diligent as he attempted to lessen the damage to our garden. The setup process was likewise flawless. Henry spared no effort in ensuring that the work was completed properly. Without moaning or additional expense, he conquered each and every tiny difficulty that arose. Sun First Solar comes highly recommended from me." - Evan D.
"In 2018, our solar panels were installed by Sun First. The concept and implementation were both well executed. In addition, Sun First has always responded quickly to my inquiries and concerns throughout the years. Sun First was the clear choice when we added a battery this year. Again, the Tesla Powerwall battery they designed and installed was well done. Our experience with Sun First's solar equipment and customer service has been very positive." - Kaleb F.
"Yesterday, Sun First Solar erected another six solar panels on top of the twelve they put up in 2019. The NEMA Outlet for an electric vehicle was also put in yesterday. Our 2020 Tesla Powerwall was installed by Sun First Solar. Expert, professional, knowledgeable, kind, and considerate, the Sun First Solar crew did a great job for us. They were "on top" of the whole process, from procurement to scheduling to installation. Sean, who completed the electrical work yesterday, did a fantastic job." - Harry T.
"From beginning to end, not much happened. Although I did not utilize them for the initial installation of my solar panels, I did use them twice to fix problems with my previous system. The doors had closed on my first firm. They were really amazing. They ordered and installed a new inverter without charging me a dime. The warranty covered me. The next time they came out, they told me what my choices were. There was no one else around to provide a hand. Their support staff is fantastic in every way. I wish I could tell you his name right now, but I'm away from home and it's back there. They have integrity, expertise, and professionalism. If I could rate them higher, I would. When I decided to replace my roof, Sun First Solar was the first company I called." - Larry P.
"Since we originally put in our SunPower solar system 10 years ago, we've been clients of Sun First Solar. As a result of their substantial recent work in the area, PG&E has brought to our attention various issues with our aging infrastructure. Their service manager, was able to propose some wonderful maintenance methods to obtain greater efficiency out of our older system, and their electrician, gave step-by-step examination and issue solutions. We are excited to work with them in the new year to build a powerwall system because of their professionalism, helpfulness, and advice. Without a doubt, this is one of the best solar panel installation firms out there." - Chris K.
