"They provide astoundingly poor customer service. Sadly, I had to pay for the solar lease and power for the four months it took to resolve an issue with the machinery. Sunpower did not offer to pay for any overages or even to compensate in any way. Today, December 26, came the newest power bill. It will take them 10 days to examine even though the system reports no issues and seems to be operating regularly. The idea was to generate additional electricity in order to offset the expense of utility use. This has not happened so far." - Roberto T.

"I am reducing my rating by one star based on my recent experience. I complained to customer care because three of my solar panels are only generating 25% as much as other solar panels in the same area. I learned an hour later that the solar system is functioning normally and is achieving the needed daily average. This is just nonsense. Simply disinterested and unconcerned about their clients. This gets an O from me. At all costs, avoid doing business with this corporation." - Ramon L.

"After signing, you'll hand over tens of thousands of dollars and nobody will ever check in to see how things are going. A second-hand car salesman displays more care than these people. Within a month of installation, your system will start acting up. Nothing but a surprise electric bill and a broken inverter await you if you don't keep an eye on your system. If there is an issue, SunPower will not inform you. They may take your call seriously and inform you that a work order has been placed. There is no further progress possible. That's it, I mean it. They might get in touch with you again if you threaten to stop paying the solar bill. They will not compensate you for the two bills you've received if something breaks and you have to have it fixed (one from solar and one from the utility company). It's inevitable that you'll feel remorse. In spite of having my system activated in May of 2022, it has never reached its full potential. Each month, in addition to my regular electric bill, I have received a solar bill for $217. At long last, on January 5th, 2023, someone came out to declare the problem resolved. SunPower informed me that they could only compensate me with $300 for my trouble. They are charlatans peddling false hope." - Miles J.

"The software has a lot of bugs, especially on weekends. You can't see what the solar is producing because it freezes up. Only from 5 to 8 p.m. on weekdays and not on weekends does the cost-saving mode operate. My SCE schedule is from 4 to 9 p.m. My buddies don't have any of these issues since they used Tesla. I made the mistake of believing that choosing a solar business that charged more would be better. Oh, and you no longer have access to customer assistance on weekends. Additionally, if you call during the week, be prepared to wait a while and for them to take several days to resolve your issue." - Liam M.

"Customer service is not a top priority in their eyes. I've been attempting to have my sunpower system repaired for the last year since it stopped working. Unfortunately, due to the original installer's failure to continue operations, Sunpower is now unable to help with repairs. They simply suggest that you get in touch with a regional installer from a list they offer on their website. Local installers demand that more panels be added before they would help fix a system that was set up by a rival." - Lewis K.

"We added 21 SunPower solar panels to our previous home ten years ago. Even though the array was only intended to provide 90% of our electrical requirements, they consistently operated at or over their rated capacity. When we moved into our new house last year, we added 23 SunPower solar panels, and we are now once again getting full electricity from them. We would have required 30–50% more panels in our array to match the output, and we predict a quicker fall in efficiency compared to our friends who chose cheaper competitors. When we decide to do this again, SunPower will be our first choice." - Milton C.

"For more than four years, I've been renting a Sunpower solar panel system. I have been able to save more over $300 in cash annually for the last four years based on the electric company rates in effect when I installed them. Rates have increased in the meantime, boosting my yearly savings. Huge grins and cheers for the company and the system! I anticipate saving more than $6,000 over the course of the lease. I ultimately chose Sunpower after conversing with four other companies. I had the impression that the Sunpower team giving me a presentation knew their stuff and wasn't simply attempting to "sell" me a solar panel array. They provided me with a thorough explanation of how they sized my system based on my historical use habits and how it will continue to save me money since utility costs seldom ever go down. In any of the previous four years, I have never had a substantial credit amount remaining with the energy provider at year's end. This method is ideal for me in every way." - Claude P.

"We gave converting to SunPower solar panels a lot of thought before deciding it was the wisest move. Even so, we do! We are a retired couple with little electricity needs, but it makes us feel good to know that we have helped the system by selling our extra energy. At 42 degrees north latitude, we are in southern Oregon. But there is a catch: once we changed the WiFi network in our house, our solar system stopped communicating with SunPower. After the new router was placed, our solar installer had to contact us via phone, email, and in-person visit in order to resolve the problem. In one call, the SunPower agent hinted to "other" issues that I hadn't been told about, which worried me. She said, "It wasn't the first time I'd heard of the problem." SunPower must already be hard at work on a solution, we can only hope. There aren't any issues at the moment." - Joshua F.

"I chose to go solar out of concern for the earth rather than for the financial rewards. My system was operational as of January 2021, and I couldn't be happier. None at all. The app sometimes has issues, but they are not major. The app's estimates don't always account for the system's capacity to produce power. I installed a 27-kilowatt system to save money, and it is more than enough for my purposes. However, I want to purchase an electric vehicle in the next year. I'll get a cheque from the American Public Power Society (APS) for the excess energy I produced in 2018. Phoenix is one of the world's cities with the most sunshine per year, if not the most, thus it makes sense to have solar in the Valley. Therefore, I believe it was a great decision in the end." - Glen D.

"I compared prices from many solar installations and firms, including SunRun, Con-Edison, and Posi-Gen. I came to the conclusion after doing my study that SunPower is the best choice for us. Working with the nearby SunPower dealer SAVKAT has been a pleasure. From Jay Buckland in sales to Joe Sullivan during installation to Sheri Baracliff, the project manager, everyone I've interacted with there has been kind, accommodating, and knowledgable (even when I was being tough). The system is working as anticipated or even better after a little more than a month of usage. My son and one of his friends are now satisfied SunPower customers as a result of my recommendation of SAVKAT/SunPower to numerous of my friends and neighbors." - Harvey V.
