"I feel that I was deceived, and lied to a lot The staff is very unfriendly and unpleasant. If you lose your job and can't keep up with your payments, they won't help you. Writing an $800 check to this firm every three months seems like blackmail. In the beginning, this would lower the cost of PGE, but after five years the price has gone up $60, from $200 to $260, and it is expected to rise above $300 by the end of the year. Unity Solar Systems is like a mob in that they bully you into demanding payment and won't forgive late payments, while PGE has allowed consumers to make partial payments on overdue electric bills. The customer service representative I talked to was as obnoxious as a street thug trying to extort money from me. They installed a $21,000 system on my roof and are now trying to charge me $63,000 a year for the remainder of my lease. As a first-time purchaser of the system, I was uninformed and was easily taken advantage of because of the constant rate increases and the lack of guarantee of power compensation. After the moratorium measure was enacted, I regret not contracting with PGE. At least partial and late payments can be made with them and they are sympathetic to the current economic situation. Lawmakers should step forward and grant the same amnesty to anyone who was tricked into going into solar under the false impression that they would help the environment and the electric grid, and then entered into an extremely expensive contract without the possibility of negotiation. The whole point of making the decision to move forward with Unity Solar Systems was to save on electric costs. Before I signed the agreement, I asked all of my questions regarding cloudy days, nights, cold weather, and hot weather. The salesman reassured me that no matter the weather I would have no impact on the energy being provided. When reaching out to the company about this issue, they told me that the contract that I signed says that in the daylight hours, I will be receiving energy from my solar panels and that at night from the electric company. This is very disappointing because I wish I had never been roped into this lie. I want to get those panels off my roof - there is no point in going through with the whole process when you're going to end up paying more money and having a useless system occupying space on your roof. "Around eight months ago, when I first began using Unity Solar Systems, it was really nice and quick. When the plan was finalized, a contract was signed, and an installation date was scheduled. It was discovered that they did not have enough of the required panels until far into the installation process. Our borough inspector was called in, and he identified a few problems after we scheduled an inspection. To cut a long tale short, the inspector came back a total of two more times before he finally signed off.
