"I spent a considerable amount of time researching businesses before choosing Solar King since I had been looking forward to getting solar for years. That was erroneous. They have a fantastic installation team, in my opinion. Based on their prior experience examining their work, even the inspectors agreed. Unfortunately, the back office is completely dysfunctional, which has made the whole process extremely difficult. The highlight of the failure is that I'm being charged just short of $1,000 to rectify it because a half-dozen panels were put in the incorrect location as a result of poor communication between the crews. And to make matters worse, I can't even receive an answer on the solution. I'll eventually have to get in touch with their customer service department to get any type of answer, which also occurred throughout the project. That project has dragged on for more than six months and there is no sign of a conclusion. No time did the dysfunction become more apparent than when I unintentionally joined an email chain in which the sales staff was bemoaning clients and claiming that they shouldn't be included in the planning and design process. This lack of customer service attitude was evident in many of my interactions with the team, including attempts to dissuade me from fixing the incorrect panel placement, charging me to correct their error, delaying for weeks making a change to the plan that would improve performance because it wasn't the original plan, replies taking days or longer, and other instances I'm sure I've forgotten. Since several of my colleagues and coworkers have Solar King on their shortlist for projects like mine, I have already advised them to avoid it. Since I have no prior experience, there is no one else I can recommend; nonetheless, if I had to choose someone again, I would do the same for you." - Andrew P.
"No one is reachable through phone, Facebook, or snail mail, and responses are sluggish at best. You cannot call this business. It's either voicemail or a never-ending hold music loop. Why does Solar King, a purported "Tier 1" producer, and participant in the massive solar sector, provide such a meager supply? You are responsible for solving your issues and answering your queries. I've concluded that I'd be happier with a different brand." - Alexandr U.
"The Solar King panels were acquired in March of 2023. The installation went well with just a few hiccups. Once I had the panels set up, I had a hard time getting in touch with their customer service team. I intend to write to their headquarters, lodge a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and contact the relevant state authorities. If you're looking for solar items, I wouldn't go with this firm." - Daniel V.
"Solar King sent out a "Marketing Director" rather than a salesperson to Federal Hill, unlike Barry Levinson's film Tin Men, which was about aggressive aluminum siding salesmen in the 1950s (based on Baltimore FormStone salespeople). We could work with them and get a 10% discount but don't tell our neighbors since they wouldn't be able to match the pricing. All we had to do was be prepared to provide a few positive evaluations and any necessary references. 10% of an absurdly large amount that was 15,000 greater than the next lowest offer. In the end, the system was the most costly we priced, with the least power, and an exaggerated estimate of the percent offset of our energy bill, even with the "discount". To bring our electrical panel up to code, we were also advised that we would need to update it (for $2,000 to $4,000), but this turned out to be untrue. I don't usually leave bad reviews, but I wish I had read the one below since it appears like someone else had the same experience as me. Hmm." - Steve M.
"After 4 years, one of our panels ceased generating, and we submitted a claim to Solar King. When they returned, they offered to pay us $76 instead of a new panel. They claim they can do that rather than installing a new panel in the small print. They still extol the virtues of their superb warranty coverage. Do not accept it! Choose a superior business that will stand by its guarantee!" - Brandon Z.
"A 7.59-kilowatt system that I put up with the help of Solar King should provide all of my energy needs. They collaborated with me to utilize expensive Panasonic HIT 330 panels while keeping the system's cost per kilowatt under the state average. Even though I was traveling and difficult to contact for the majority of the time, I was pleased that they completed the task in the allocated amount of time. The installation team completed the task quickly and efficiently, installing all the panels in one day. The wiring was done expertly by the electrician they hired, and the panels are operating extremely well. I wholeheartedly endorse Solar King!" - Doug H.
"I was provided with a nice-looking 4.7 kW solar panel array from Solar King. The majority of my work was done with Alex N., who twice visited my home to offer quotes and assess the roof. The electricians were efficient and produced quality work, while the panel installation made everything appear fantastic. Permits, inspections, and the application for the Consumers Energy connection were handled by Solar King." - Bill P.
"In addition to the obvious advantages, I simply wanted to encourage others who are thinking about putting solar panels on their homes. Finding a property with solar panels was the farthest thing from our minds when we were searching, but what a bonus it was to discover one on the house we now call home. Even though we ultimately paid a little bit more for the house, the money we will ultimately save will make up for it. We couldn't be more pleased with our choice." - Valery I.
"It was a joy working with Solar King to have our solar panels installed. Their technical expertise and professionalism are well-valued. At every step of the journey, they offered comments, and they were always willing to take the time to respond to our inquiries. The placing of the panels on our metal shingled roof caused some difficulties, but Solar King worked with the shingle manufacturer to find the best mounting solution. conscientious, meticulous, and effective in communicating. We have no qualms about endorsing Solar King LLC. Good luck with your firm and the excellent job you perform. We do not doubt that you will be prosperous. have advocated among friends." - Roy G.
"Dairy farmers like my spouse and I have a rising power cost. For greener energy and to have some control over our power cost, we chose to get solar installed. Because Don King could clearly explain what we were receiving and the procedure before installation, we decided to cooperate with him. Having items and labor from MI was a benefit. There were grants available at the time, and they handled the bulk of the paperwork. If I have any questions, Don is still accessible. We effortlessly get about 1000kWh every month. The system is around two and a half years old." - Mary O.
