"Only after paying more than half of the $25,000 cost - when they provided their pre-permit request for clearance - were we given an additional $3500 fee for 3-9 foot concrete piers for our ground mount array. This could seem to be expected. Instead of taking a chance on further surprises, we're thinking of canceling, which would cost at least $1,000." - Dave Wrobel
"For us, the business erected a 9.6 kW PV system. We believed we were being cautious by refusing to foolishly believe the promises made in their sales presentation. Unfortunately, we didn't take adequate precautions. The job was well done. The on-site staff were kind and competent. The office support staff was kind, patient, and said all the "right" things (until the final payment was received). Problems arose because representations produced did not correspond to reality. The size of the inverters wouldn't hinder production, it was confirmed to us, and the system was designed appropriately. If that were not the case, they would replace the inverters, they assured us. This proved to be untrue. The firm eventually acknowledged the inverters would restrict the output (after receiving the final payment), but basically stated "tough luck." In order to reach the predicted output, we made it clear during our initial meeting that we didn't want to run into any unexpected expenses. They gave us their word that wouldn't happen. This too proved to be untrue. In the end, we had to pay almost 10% extra to fulfill their initial commitments. Without that additional cost, our output was 20% below the forecast. When they sent us the first unanticipated modification order, they also tried to sneak in an expedited payment schedule." - Blkwatch
"I conducted extensive study before settling on StraightUp Solar. I promptly signed and made the sizable deposit payment in order to benefit from a later reimbursement. They actually got me in shortly after Christmas, even though it was originally intended for early January. That allowed me to benefit from the federal tax refund for this year. Great job so far, no? I trusted the firm just as much as I would other people and left my home alone while I ran an errand. At this time, no charges have been brought against their employees. But when I came back an hour later, they were still working. I would be gone from the home that day from 4 to 7 p.m., according to my apparent work schedule. When workers first entered the attic, they saw a jewelry box in a chamber. I heard a sound as soon as I got home from work early. I failed to notice a locked window that is challenging to open from the inside. When I finally went to check, I saw someone leaving my home with a bag that subsequently turned out to contain the majority of my valuables, including gold. The upstairs was filthy. Fast ahead, and any savings from solar power have been offset by the expense of rising insurance rates and a home security system. They either said nothing at all or repeatedly insisted that their staff are family and would never commit a crime or assist others. I've learnt that not everyone is trustworthy and that it's important to check all windows and doors before contractors depart. To reiterate, no finger prints were discovered that resulted in charges or arrest. No one else was able to open the window from the inside, no one else knew the home would be unoccupied during those hours, and I don't wear a lot of jewelry. No one else had the skills to navigate the maze-like obstacle course in my enclosed property without being watched. Why did I put off writing a review for so long? finally depleted by the recurring reminder of rising costs." - Yolandea W.
"Be prepared to leave a message if you have inquiries regarding solar since the response time is appalling. After a day or two, a salesperson will phone you back, followed by a "planner" who will call you back. After that, he doesn't call you back for a few days. This thing costs $40000. The level of care is inferior to what you would get from a vehicle salesperson when buying a used car for $9000.00. Absolutely awful. Once I had given them my first deposit, I could just visualize the level of service. then said, "Thanks, but no thanks."" - Ali K.
"Approximately 7 days ago, I spoke with them and provided all the information for a quotation. Still no call-back. The following day, 3 other firms provided quotations. Just imagine how they would manage service calls after an installation if they treated prospective $30k clients in this manner. No, thank you." - Terry G.

"StraightUp Solar has installed solar panels for me at two sites in McLean County. My interactions with every member of the StraightUp Solar staff were excellent. There were no surprises from the original design and cost analysis through installation. On the first, they collaborated with Corn Belt Energy, and on the second, with Ameren. One was a ground mount on a farm, and the other was on the roof of my house. installations that are neat and attractive. Central Illinois is where StraightUp's office and local workers are located. The most crucial aspect to consider when choosing a vendor is if they will maintain the product after installation, as StraightUp does." - Eric
"Straight-up Our solar panels were installed expertly by Solar. A system of 89 Kw was installed. We run a company, and it seems that we will save around $7k year! The whole personnel, from the salespeople to the installation, made me extremely satisfied. The method is incredibly efficient, and the cost of our bill has been almost entirely eliminated. Actually, I think we could be creating more than we need. Only time will tell. Since the system has been in operation for a year, there have been no issues. I would advise anybody to use Straight-Up Solar." - Danville Gardens
"About six years ago, Straight Up Solar constructed a system for my remote house and garage. I was pleased with the installation's planning, execution, and results. Since the installation, I have not had to pay for power since I have been able to sell energy credits virtually every month at my level of energy use. I have no issues! And I wholeheartedly endorse them." - John
