"Late in July of last year (2019), I installed 13 solar panels that I had bought. The system worked as intended, although several things were not handled as promised. Having some trees that cast shade on the panels be cut down was one of the two primary problems. A man with the surname of Thomas visited my home to assess the trimming and claimed to have "some guys" who could come out and take care of it. Well, it's been more than a year and they haven't shown up. Needless to say, I decided to cut the trees myself and paid for it myself. Two of my panels are not recording power generation, which is the second (and biggest) problem I now have, or should I say have had for more than six months. I've called them many times during the summer, but conveniently, neither of their lines is ever answered, and/or their voicemail is full and unable to accept messages. I eventually connected with an employee (Melissa) in late July who was extremely sympathetic to my plight and who apparently spoke with someone on the team. However, no one has ever bothered to return my call to send out a specialist to assess the defective panels. The lack of responsibility and poor customer service are the two things that have bothered me the most about this Texas Solar Outfitters experience. As a citizen wanting to do my bit to protect the environment, I was met with what seemed to be a dishonest corporation disguising itself as a virtuous environmentalist. Be wary of their most recent business strategy. You must sign a statement indicating ALL work was finished to your satisfaction in order for them to switch on your system. How can you be sure that everything is working properly, is the conundrum. I ought to have predicted this. Yes, I have submitted the relevant complaint to the BBB. As needed, I'll provide updates." - Juan Venegas
"Two of the seven panels I had installed had stopped working less than six months after the system was switched on. For six months, I called and emailed them several times until I finally spoke with an actual person in late July of this year. However, nothing has transpired since she said she would investigate the matter. Since I spent almost $14,000 to preserve the environment and save a little money, here I am with five of my seven panels functioning and two merely burning a hole in my pocket. I'll keep you informed, but for now, don't do business with them since you won't exist after they have your money." - j_venegas
"Texas Solar Outfitters designed a wonderful layout and provided us with alternatives that allowed us to utilize almost all solar energy. The workers were kind and knowledgeable. Thank you Texas Solar for assisting us in supporting." - Makingpwr
"My 16 kW system was set up by TSO back in 2015. With the exception of one blown fuse and one SMA inverter communication card failure (all warranty repair), the system has operated without incident after commissioning changes. With my investment and the savings from grid electricity, I'm quite happy. But a few weeks ago, I saw a sharp decline in output. I got Kyle on the phone from TSO. Within days, TSO arrived to do basic troubleshooting. TSO dispatched its lead electrician, Steve, to do a more thorough inspection of the cabling between the panels and the inverters after speaking with SMA on potential inverter problems. Last Friday, Steve and the team discovered the problem on the roof during a break in the rain. A connector had been torn out by something gnawing on the wire, rendering 10 panels inoperable. Because of the weather, they were unable to complete the repair that day. However, he returned on Monday am and restored the system's full power. I appreciate Kyle staying with me to see this through and Steve methodically working through the wiring to find and quickly fix the system. Thanks!" - JEMc
"We contacted Texas Solar Outfitters towards the end of October 2017, and by the beginning of March 2018, our 26 home SunPower panels had been installed and were functioning. From selecting the ideal design to completing all the permissions, the whole process was simple and quick. The crew, which was comprised of Chris Walker and Kyle Story, was open and truthful as well as very educated. They were able to provide a timeframe for when each project phase would be finished and they reached all of the milestones on schedule. They followed up to make sure I had everything I needed for my rebates and taxes once the system was up and running, which gives me faith that they would also honor their guarantee if anything goes wrong." - GradyW
"My barn roof now has solar panels, which have worked quite effectively. I've survived a storm, two floods, and a tornado without any damage or output losses. Strangely, despite installing a field that is many times bigger than mine, my brother also decided that Texas Solar Outfitters was the best firm to work with after doing a thorough investigation. Production reports are constantly online and I'm always reachable via phone." - Oberhoff
"On our 2018 solar installation, my family and I had a great time working with Texas Solar Outfitters. Chris Walker served as a corporate representative and salesperson. He demonstrated excellent product knowledge while demonstrating a high level of concern for client inquiries. The installation went really well, and everything happened on time and according to schedule. Chris and his team get 5 STARS from me." - MantezMcDonald
