"This has to be the worst customer service I've ever experienced. It's been a year, and I'm just now getting around to finishing it. If I could go back in time, I wouldn't have signed the contract to purchase the solar panels since they deceived me and told me things that weren't true. I'd take time off work so they could come fix up my home. They just didn't show up! Poor ratings mean I won't be recommending them to anybody. Please let it be sufficient. Here I am, unable to move! And angry!" - Frank R.
"My only regret is not researching Big Dog more. Almost no one is talking to one another. The contract was inked in May of this year. On the scheduled installation's first day, no one showed up. The installation was postponed when we contacted. They were supposed to install the solar panels on the roof, but it took three separate "scheduled" days before they finally showed up. To get answers, I had to telephone them, but they never got back to me. Finally getting around to installing solar panels, however they failed inspection. Since the inspection, I have called every day to find out when they will return to finish the job, but they never seem to give me a firm date or return my calls when they say they will. Keep exploring if you need a firm with reliable client support before committing. The solution is not Big Dog." - Ivan T.
"The installation of my solar panels took 7 months. Despite repeated phone calls, questions are rarely answered. A ladder was left hooked to the gutter and in the middle of the driveway for almost a month; inspectors came by at least five times to explain what they needed to do (or correct); and numerous scheduled appointments were missed. I got paid every month, but only after I repeatedly called and insisted on it. Therefore, caution is advised." - Terry E.
"The installation still hasn't been finished, and it's been five months after we signed the contract. It took almost three months, but now we have some kind of installation. It took another two months for an inspection, which failed three times, despite daily calls that were seldom addressed. When Big Dog was supposed to send in the repair crew, they never showed up and never gave us a heads up. My very first bill is due today, and I still haven't completed my system. Having to deal with customer service was a nightmare. I really regret having hired Big Dog Solar for the task. Choose a different provider unless you enjoy being given the runaround indefinitely." - Zachary C.
"Since I am located in a relatively remote area, Big Dog Solar was the only viable option. After the fact, I learned that the individual who provided me with the estimates based on my use was not an electrician nor an engineer but rather a slick salesperson. This results in the system failing to provide the promised performance. Between the solar panels, the battery, and the grid, there will be a loss? I was offered a 30% tax break, but they didn't specify what kind of income qualified, so I'm still forking out a rather substantial sum to the utility company every month. One of the installers didn't even respond when I requested him to show up at my home at the same time as the CFO and an electrician from the power company. I made a terrible mistake by working with this firm. I plan on complaining to the Better Business Bureau and making my dissatisfaction public on social media." - George O.
"The service I've received from this firm has been excellent. Almost once a week, Lisa would give me an update by calling me. Everyone arrived promptly as planned. The job was finished on schedule and it looks great. They phoned me two weeks after the installation to let me know they were keeping an eye on everything and would be replacing one of the panels because of its poor output." - Arian P.
"In 2020, I made my first system purchase, and I couldn't have been happier with the results. Even though the power company's restrictions prevented me from installing a system big enough to meet ALL of my home's needs, I still chose to go forward with the purchase. Early last autumn, I ran with Damon, who had asked how we were doing along with our system. I told him we were doing fine, although I was disappointed that we didn't have complete coverage for my needs. He asked for my San Isabel use history and then assured me that, thanks to the utility's recent upgrades, I could now get the most out of my system. My setup is perfect now that I had them upgrade it for me. It's true that there's a higher initial commitment, but I've been saving steadily for two years, so I know this decision will be worthwhile. Because of Damon, and the rest of their TEAM, I continue to be a happy client." - Louis J.
"These guys rock! They deliver quickly, are very adaptable, and provide an overwhelming variety of products. It's unusual because they provide guarantees on everything for 25 years. These guys rock! They deliver on time, are open to customization requests, and provide an unbelievable variety of products. It's unusual to see guarantees as long as 25 years from one company." - Kishan M.
"Before making our final choice, we spent some time investigating the solar industry. By far, they had the most competitive pricing. The salesman were a pleasure to deal with and provided prompt responses to all of my inquiries." - Justin V.
"After chatting with one of the sales representatives who dropped by when they were installing down the street, we decided to investigate the solar energy options that have been sprouting up all around us. We were relieved to learn that going solar is more affordable than we had anticipated. Everything about this has been wonderful for us. We're thrilled with how the panels turned out after installation, and we're even more thrilled with the monitoring app's ability to break down our output in such detail. In addition to being exceedingly patient and accommodating to my husband, who is highly meticulous and finicky, our sales consultant was really helpful throughout the whole process. We also found out that our pricing was really reasonable after consulting with many other businesses. When compared to what we got, our friends' system was slightly smaller, but they paid thousands more and had issues with the installation. Big Dog has exceeded our expectations, and we have no reservations in recommending them." - Brandon S.
