"Even though the installation was finished more than 60 days ago, the electricity has not been converted to solar. I can no longer reach anybody at Primitive Power through phone or text. They are not going to cooperate with the solar installation firm Empire Solar to make the change. After the job was paid for, they completely ignored me, even when I had issues with the installation. Finally reaching the sales guy, he promised to check into it but did not follow through. Don't put your faith in Primitive Power; they're just interested in taking your money and couldn't care less what happens afterwards. Solar power use is a necessary last step before I can call this project done." - Tyler N.
"The beginning sounded promising. Things started to go wrong as installation time approached. They said the local electricity provider refused to issue permits because of an incorrect zip code. After having them verify their zip code three times with invoices, you know it's right. I made a call, and it was fixed within the hour. By mid-May, we had completed the installation. Power provider said they are holding off on installing the net meter till later. The utility provider writes to claim they have not received my installation completion paperwork. I made an effort to contact empire to inquire about the situation. After three days of leaving many voicemails, I was able to reach someone. They informed me the electricity provider had the incorrect zip code and that I should get in touch with them. After contacting the electricity provider, I learned that they had the right zip code but had not yet received the application. Made contact with the empire again. They promised to return my call by Wednesday with a resolution. Friday of the week. Wednesday has come and gone with no return calls or answers to our voicemails. I have to make a payment soon but have no idea when I will be able to generate solar again. That business is the worst I've ever dealt with. NOT ONE BIT OF CUSTOMER CARE!!!!" - Dylan M.
"A salute to individuals who inhabit regions seldom visited by winter's white blanket. The previous rating of 5 stars remains. I am now giving a score of one to everyone else. Living in the Midwest, where we get a lot of snow, was a major worry of mine when I first considered going into solar. Every time it snowed, I didn't want to have to risk falling off the roof to clear the snow from my solar panels. According to my Primitive Power representative, when the panels are turned on, they produce heat and may melt snow. I wouldn't have to go up on the roof, he reassured me. Actually, it doesn't work out that way. When I asked my installer whether my panels were working, they checked and told me there wasn't enough heat being created to warrant concern. I DO NOT like being misled." - Jonathan T.
"I attempted doing business with them, but they never provided a pricing breakdown, despite my repeated requests, and they also failed to return my calls. A detailed cost estimate should be available before shelling out $40,000 to $50,000. Clearly, they were trying to conceal something." - Nicholas K.
"In 2020, I had them install my solar panels. It's been a year already (August 2021) and I've been trying to schedule routine service (check and clean) without success. In January 2022, I received a quotation but heard nothing more. We are currently in the month of February, 2022. In addition, I have asked for an estimate to have work done on a different home three times since November 2021 and have received no response. Poor service to customers." - Mason H.
"The men arrived at approximately 8 a.m. and stayed until around 3 p.m. When they had to come inside my house to finish the installation, they caused as little disruption as possible. After finishing, the boys put everything back where it had been and cleaned up whatever mess they made. The group's level of professionalism was excellent. Many thanks for all your efforts!" - Ryan C.
"The whole Primitive Power crew, led by Evan, was fantastic to deal with while we installed solar panels on our roof. Before concluding that solar was the correct choice for us, we had a lot of questions, and the team took the time to answer all of them and make sure we understood the answers. Despite our initial skepticism, their professionalism and thorough responses to all of our queries convinced us that going solar was the best option for us. They made getting financing and installing it easy and kept us updated at every stage. If you're thinking about installing solar panels on your property, Primitive Power is who you should contact." - Brandon J.
"Jackson put us at ease and made us feel valued as customers right away. When we first met, he made it clear that if at any point we or you didn't believe the relationship was a good fit, we wanted to know about it. How about that? Jackson's courtesy and consideration for our time was much appreciated. Jackson has been in constant communication, so we know exactly where we are with everything. The choice to move to solar power was a big one, and I'm relieved that we're able to work with Primitive Power and Jackson to make it happen." - Samuel B.
"I had no problems at all, that much is certain. Everything went off without a hitch. As a former member of the armed forces, clear and effective communication is of the utmost importance to me, and that was never an issue with this group. We were in continuous contact with one another. The installers were not only kind and efficient, but also knowledgeable; if they didn't know the answers to my inquiries, they quickly consulted with their superiors. Their assistance, kindness, and competence have all beyond my expectations. I only need the power company to finish its end of the deal so that my new solar panels can start producing electricity. HOOAH!" - Lucas A.
"I was excited to learn that I could produce the electricity I use, but the price got me thinking. Besides, I reasoned, we can't survive without electricity, so I guess I have to pay a monthly fee. The difference will be that I will be responsible for determining whether our utility costs continue to rise steadily, including electricity. The owner of Primitive Power treated me very professionally and we had enough time to discuss my problems and concerns. To ensure smooth operation, they enlisted the support of competent individuals and reputable organizations. Now that I am a producer, I no longer worry when I hear my air conditioner running; I not only solved the problem of rising prices, but also protected my roof from the weather." - Jack S.
