"I have been unable to contact them for any reason. There is no response to my Google messages or phone calls, and the website is unavailable. After purchasing a home with solar panels installed by this business, we quickly realized we needed to have them serviced. I would probably revise my rating if I heard back from you." - Kyla
"Poor attention to customers. Since I was promised that the Solar Side Up (SSU) system would be operational for the pricey summer months, I signed up with them in March. Two months after I signed the contract, at the end of May, the system was finally installed. This was after a period of radio quiet lasting many weeks. As a result of SSU's failed handoff to Xcel, I was unable to access my system again until early August. Because of this unexpected delay, I was responsible for paying the whole power bill for the months of June and July (about $350). I expected SSU would gladly reimburse me for the missed deadlines to set things right, given that this was presumably a very typical occurrence and the amount sought was less than 2% of the amount I paid. Unfortunately, SSU took no responsibility and merely informed me that accidents like this "can happen." You should go elsewhere for a firm that cares about its clientele." - Jake
"I have been employed by this sham firm for almost two years. In the Denver region, you may find me working as a general contractor. I have tried to give Michael and Jeff the benefit of the doubt countless times, despite my belief that Michael is a little slow and that Jeff is the most greedy guy I have never encountered. Michael lacks self-assurance, so he does what Jeff asks and says just what Jeff wants to hear. Unfortunately, Jeff's pathetic ego causes him to believe it all. They have utterly overpromised and offered false hope on two separate instances. They put in a bid for a contract without having the required certifications or experience to handle the removal and replacement of PV solar panels. They hurried to get the task done so they could retain the profit, but they did not have enough workers to get it done well. After three weeks, they realized they were wrong and sent me to a legitimate business that could do the job correctly. They delayed a different work by three months by making up damage to the solar panels and then demanding payment from the insurance company. The insurance company made repeated objections, but Jeff and his lackey Michael persisted with their amateur "report," which was always wrongly dismissed. Their sloppy work and inability to keep me in the loop ultimately cost me the whole project. They first agreed to repay some of the deposit for unfinished work but are now refusing to do so. Keep your distance from these imperialist, selfish, stupid kooks. They do not know what they are doing at all. These nerds are typical of the solar energy enterprises that have sprung up in recent years. Solar Side Up is a classic example of a firm that seeks to capitalize on homeowners' evolving needs but completely misses the mark. This is a terrible and pitiful state of affairs." - Aaron
"I had a conversation with Michael and gave them another go, but their service manager told me they are only interested in new installations. I have multiple broken panels and, sadly, rat damage. When I inquired about the cost of fixing the damage to the wiring caused by the rats, I was told it would be in the thousands. To top it all off, they flat-out refused to assist with the insurance. So, if you are already a customer, prepare to be abandoned. All they want to do is put in new infrastructure. Geoff, the manager of service, has little aptitude for interacting with clients. As well as being really impolite. He will bring up the fact that they lose money on service and that he despises doing it. Unfortunately, everything eventually breaks, and they have no intention of fixing it. It is not something I would suggest. All they did right was warn me to turn it off since the exposed wires may start a fire." - Barry
"The system is up and running, and the timeliness with which it was completed earned it a clean bill of health from the inspectors. After the installation, they failed miserably; they took six weeks to process my paperwork and did nothing to quickly connect me to Xcel. I followed up with them a few times and received brief emails with updates, but they still have not admitted that they just forgot to use xcel to complete the task. Our advice is to get a Tesla, even if their customer service is terrible. You may as well go with the lowest option, Tesla, if you are going to receive poor service after the sale." - Steve
"Purchasing from Solar Side Up was a fantastic experience overall. They took care of the inspections and permits, helped us get funding, and completed the installation a month ahead of schedule. The staff was very kind and quick to respond to our inquiries. From the street in front of the home, the panels are hardly visible, thus this is a picture of the rear or side of the house." - Scott
"Working with Geoff and his crew was a breeze. They handled every aspect of the job with grace and efficiency. Even better, from the time we signed the contract till we had a working operating system was just 43 days. It is fun to see the meter go in the other direction. The system looks amazing, and the installation was quick and easy. Solar Side Up has my highest possible recommendation." - Edmond
"The company is great to work for. Working here is rewarding and fun. Facilitating household solar adoption is a satisfying endeavor. It warms our hearts to see that our clients are recognized for their honesty and integrity. And it is fantastic to watch their faces light up when they discover they are producing their own energy." - Michael
"I had problems locating a solar provider to come take a look at an issue with my current setup, and I was also interested in expanding my current setup. The original system installer seems to have closed shop. When I initially began making phone calls, four of the firms I contacted indicated they were completely booked and unable to accept new clients with current infrastructure. I arrived to Solar Side UP safely. When I was having issues with the system, Michael DeRosia gave me a hand over the phone. After that, they were able to work me into their hectic schedule and have me come see the expansion. Fantastic adventure. Solar Side Up is an excellent choice. The technician who came out, Geoff, was excellent in his work. I can not sing their praises loudly enough." - Kendall
"EnergySage is where I learned about Solar Side Up. They presented a well-designed concept and were really simple to deal with. They were forthright about potential fees and delays, and they addressed my inquiries and worries promptly. They did not bother me constantly, so I was able to devote my attention to the study I found most interesting. My sales contact even brought in higher-ups to field the questions he could not address personally. I was unable to make the purchase due to personal financial constraints, but the sales team was great to deal with." - Eric
