"This company is terrible. Not only did Hurricane Ian steal one of my solar panels and the company has yet to fix the problem, but they also told me that I would no longer have to pay my monthly electricity bill if I installed solar panels with them." - Mario
"Bogus actors! Take the time to read the whole review. At least someone will have benefited from my ordeal if I am able to spare them the horrors I have experienced. The first impressions were favorable. The solar panels, I was assured orally, would pay for all of my utility bills. My monthly loan payment is less than my power bill, therefore I am informed I will be saving money overall. It was explained to me that they are so confident in their goods that they would pay for any unexpected expenses. They promised to take the panels down and put them back up for free if I ever required roof repairs. FILTHY LIES!!! There has not been a single month when the solar panels have provided enough power to meet our needs. The typical level of protection is about 50%. Any overages are not covered by their policy. Now that I am having to rebuild my roof, the roofing company wants to charge me $300 each panel to take down and put back up. That comes to $7,200 for my setup. Criminals, full stop. My unfavorable evaluation seems to mirror that of others. All of this is what the sales guy has assured me of. You make a complaint, and they tell you that the sales representative in question has since left the firm. It was explained to me that despite their deceit, the inked deal remains final. Knowing that most clients would not read a 50-page contract to discover the exact conditions, I think they are telling sales representatives to mislead to gain the customers. The cherry on top of problems with the app and panels' functionality. A service agent will supposedly return your call, but they never do. It is horrible in every way!" - Anthony
"They said there would be no cost for the power. Been using these since November 21st. Aside from the fact that nothing has changed, I have been receiving power bills in the dead of winter, with the accompanying explanation that I am apparently overusing the resource. No energy bill for a few months. Now that summer is here, I am being informed that I am overusing even though, according to my account, I am really using less energy than usual. When I inquire further, I am advised that I should save my energy for the summer and use it more heavily during the winter.me during the summer, literally switched replies, then I was informed it was a hot summer....the app states I am only 50% independent front the grid, which was promised in the 1990s....getting no answers today, no reaction to my emails. They also said that I could get a low payment of $135 if I rolled my tax credit into the loan, but they left out the detail that the credit would be distributed to me over the course of three annual installments. They were fantastic up to the point when they had my money, and now there is no support. All I want is what was promised to me. I regret getting solar so much that I almost wish I hadn't. Both my rent and my utility bill are quite expensive." - Morgan
"They did the math on our needs and determined that our current setup was enough. They also guaranteed free resizing if they made a mistake in the first measurement. They also assured us that the first year's bills would be paid for by them, which has not been the case. Only when the air conditioner is turned off can we produce enough energy to meet our needs. During the summer, we were unable to produce enough to meet our needs. As a result, we are now out of pocket every month for solar and electricity, without any appreciable savings. The expense of keeping the pool heated this spring is more than our system can handle. People we have recommended to Unicity have had a great experience. Read the fine print since none of the promises they made to us are reflected there. The final thing I would say is that we have been attempting to receive answers for nearly three months now." - Samuel
"In March of '21, I began installation of Unicity. There is still no functional system as of the middle of October '21. Many messages and phone calls are ignored. I called Duke Energy to find out where the installation stood from their end. And from their end, all is finished! The last time we checked in with Unicity was on October 13th. I can not tell you how aggravating this is." - Jim
"We, too, were impacted negatively by IAN. When I called Unicity for a price quote, Yuki was quick to respond. They were the only ones that could fit me into their calendar within three weeks, and they charged me a reasonable fee. They excelled, and the roof is beautiful. The outcome has satisfied me." - Artie
"Matthew Herbert is a pleasure to work with. Matthew has always responded to my calls and texts, which is very appreciated since I tend to be the sort of man who has a million and one questions. On many occasions, he visited my home to explain the production monitoring software and answer my queries in person. After two months of being connected to the grid and paying just the connection cost to Duke, I can confirm that the system is generating as promised by Unicity. The installation crew was also top-notch. They finished the job promptly and well." - Daniel
"After another business visited our home twice in a year and said there was nothing wrong with our solar panels or system, we called Unicity solar, and they came out and repaired everything. Everyone we dealt with, from the front desk to the technicians who came out, was kind and knowledgeable. They also took the time to explain the issue and their plan for correcting it in detail, which was much appreciated. Our power bill has been reduced for the first time in almost a year. Unicity is superb, and I suggest it to everyone." - Amanda
"Unicity Solar never ceases to amaze, from the front desk to the installation team. Professional, polite, and quick in every way. Recently, when Hurricane Ian wreaked havoc on my roof, I called them to come take a look. They were flexible with my schedule and patient while I dealt with the insurance company and roofers. Every single thing deserves 5 stars." - Stephen
"You seem like the kind that would do your research before diving into a big undertaking like solar panel installation, if you are reading these reviews. I shopped about and gathered three quotations, including one from a second local service and one from a statewide outfit. Barrette not only came over with information on Unicity Solar and what they provide, but he also really listened to what I was looking for in a system. I am quite satisfied since he helped me achieve my goals. The whole process, from applying for the permission to starting the installation, took less than three weeks. The installation team, led by Derek, performed a fantastic job and paid close attention to detail. They were able to get everything done in little over half a day, even with a small delay due to rain. The inspectors were scheduled to arrive today, but that was two days ago. All that is left to do is arrange for a meter swap with Duke Energy, and I will be back in business. There was a delay of almost a week due to my busy schedule, a holiday, and the threat of a storm, but the installation still happened 26 days after I signed the contract. Barrette, Nolan, Derek, and the rest of Barrette's team: THANK YOU!" - Lawrence
