"There were no disguises; the lady on the phone was cold and unfriendly. The previous owners installed a Suntrek system, but I've had no luck getting a response from them, so I ended up hiring Alcor to fix the problem. Someone warned me in no uncertain terms that next winter I would have to find someone else to shut off the system due to my steep roof. Since I was a new customer after December 31st, they charged me much more for their already excessive winterization service. They aren't interested in earning my business again. They also got there unannounced, and if no one was there to let them in, they would have had to pay to use the pool." - Curtis W.

"Owner and his secretary have a hard time understanding each other and providing adequate customer service. They are unreachable through email and/or phone for scheduling purposes, and when they do react, it seems like a favor. They will notify you via email that they require access over four weeks for costly annual spring and winter recurrent servicing, but they won't tell you when they plan to show up. When requested with adequate notice so homeowners may make arrangements for their technicians, they refuse. Instead, will act like a two-year-old when confronted with a request for a fair timeline or notice, sending you cryptic emails full of fury." - Alec G.

"Don't waste your time on them. The job done by this firm is sloppy and of poor quality. They don't tell you when to expect them for service calls and then they charge you even if the issue is still there. My pool's solar panels, which were poorly installed, have fallen off the support beams. They should have used lag bolts, but they improvised with nails instead. "This firm has been nothing but trouble for me. They keep delaying the servicing on my panels even though they haven't been functioning for almost six months. They didn't even bother calling to tell me the person wouldn't be able to make it. And figuring out what was going on took a very long time over the phone. "Extremely bad. Poor installation and the project manager were a disaster. Not worth the cost. The power barrier serves no useful use. Don't throw your money away on useless items. Dealing with Alcor employees is a nightmare, and I guarantee that working with any other contractor or vendor will be a breeze in comparison. Poor assistance from staff members." - Marvin A.

"I called two firms to do the solar installation on my pool. Alcor and Diablo were the two names. When I sold my house in the summer of 2019, I took the pool solar system with me. I had it installed in September 2017 (aquatherm industries). In southern Livermore, my 500-square-foot pool had a south-facing canopy. Between the months of late April and early October, we were able to swim without any issues at all. Al came out to take measurements and look at the roof and the pre-plumbing I already had, but the "sales pitch" was conducted entirely by email and phone. For a group of 10 collectors, Al offered me the greatest deal possible. I'm happy I chose Al since he offered the greatest deal and was straightforward about everything. He is the "sales guy" because he owns the business; his costs are lower than those of the larger firm; and his livelihood depends on your satisfaction as a client. If you're in the Bay Area and looking at solar energy, I urge you to hire Alcor Solar." - Tony D.

"Al's proposal was comparable to the other two I received; however, he was the only one to bring out that the pool would not provide sufficient returns for its size, and so, any solar would have trouble functioning correctly. Before going through the solar panel installation, he suggested we have it rectified. We did, and a month later Alcor installed our panels perfectly, and our pool stayed comfortably heated all summer (we maintained it between 80 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit, which was a little much for me, but the kids loved it). Although we haven't experienced any issues, Al has always been quick to respond whenever I've had a query or needed advice on winterizing. I would suggest Alcore to everyone." - Jonas F.

"This is the first time we have had a pool and we have shopped around for the best deal on a pump, a heater, and solar panels. While the bids were all over the place, I appreciated Al's friendliness and efficiency at Alcor. That guy is very knowledgeable. We are pleased with our decision to use Alcor. Al was able to work around the existing infrastructure of our older Anthony pool and add a new heater, solar panels, and variable speed pump. "I have used Alcor Solar on two separate properties. Alcor came through for us when we needed help with our present house in Walnut Creek. They carefully installed 16 panels despite our roof's many peaks and valleys; now we can enjoy a heated pool far into the autumn. The automated thermostat is great because it prevents the pool from becoming too hot. We set it to 85 degrees and keep it there all summer long. Years ago, I worked with another local solar firm, and it was a complete failure. You won't regret hiring Alcor since they are trustworthy and provide high-quality results." - Larry T.

"From the initial time I contacted them a month ago until this afternoon (when the project was finished), Jett has been nothing but professional, helpful, and accommodating. Due to roof failure, our solar pool heating system needed to be replaced, and Jett suggested a novel and effective solution. Additionally, he enhanced the installation to prevent issues and the plumbing to increase the effectiveness of our panels. Jett was here every time he was supposed to be here and even a couple of extra times when he wasn't, and the office manager is old-school nice, pleasant, and efficient. To put it another way, he got in touch with the roofing business and offered to collaborate with them to find a solution that would benefit both parties. This was easily the best business choice we've made. He is now the exclusive source for all pool accessories." - Brett E.
