It took four visits from LA County to get their work signed off, and at least one of those visits necessitated that I be home to let the inspector into my house, so I was trying to prepare for a big trip while they were installing the system. This did not work out well for me. After AWS completed the installation, they emailed me detailed instructions on how to activate the system, which I followed to a T. But what AWS hadn't done (and what they claimed they "ALWAYS DO" in their email to me) was throw the main breaker switch to the panel so that the system was ready to go when (in their email) they advise you merely to toss the lever on the exterior of the box. Obviously, I did as they said, and it wasn't until 6 weeks later, when I still hadn't noticed a difference in my electricity bill, that I realized they hadn't thrown the main breaker on the solar panel (THAT THEY CLAIM THEY "ALWAYS DO"), and thus my panels weren't actually connected to my electrical system. A year later, I got the bill for the "true up" on my Net Metering Agreement, and it was $455... all for the 8 weeks last July/August when I believed I was connected (BECAUSE THEY "ALWAYS" LEAVE THE BREAKER IN THE ON POSITION AFTER THEY TEST THE SYSTEM"...).Since we got over the installation procedure, having solar has been wonderful. If AWS had done the work properly and left the breaker on as THEY ALWAYS DO....NOT, we would be Net Generators for the year. They were wrong, but they didn't apologize or offer to cover the costs I paid as a result. No one ever expressed regret or regretfulness. They didn't even bother to admit that their email was wrong (they could have added a line about double-checking the breaker setting, just in case they DIDN'T DO WHAT THEY ALWAYS DO). I wasted about $500 on technical difficulties, and the customer support was horrible." - Robert

Tomorrow morning, I will have two technicians from the electricity company arrive to resolve the problem. Tim is prompt in his responses, kind in his manner, and not pushy in his service offerings.
