Customers have so praised and criticized AWS Solar in different ways. When selecting whether to employ the services offered by AWS Solar, prospective clients should carefully read these reviews.
"In July of 2015, I had AWS handle the installation for my solar panel system. I was going on vacation and had arranged for the installation to take place when I got back. It took four visits from LA County to get their work signed off, and at least one of those visits necessitated that I be home to let the inspector into my house, so I was trying to prepare for a big trip while they were installing the system. This did not work out well for me. After AWS completed the installation, they emailed me detailed instructions on how to activate the system, which I followed to a T. But what AWS hadn't done (and what they claimed they "ALWAYS DO" in their email to me) was throw the main breaker switch to the panel so that the system was ready to go when (in their email) they advise you merely to toss the lever on the exterior of the box. Obviously, I did as they said, and it wasn't until 6 weeks later, when I still hadn't noticed a difference in my electricity bill, that I realized they hadn't thrown the main breaker on the solar panel (THAT THEY CLAIM THEY "ALWAYS DO"), and thus my panels weren't actually connected to my electrical system. A year later, I got the bill for the "true up" on my Net Metering Agreement, and it was $455... all for the 8 weeks last July/August when I believed I was connected (BECAUSE THEY "ALWAYS" LEAVE THE BREAKER IN THE ON POSITION AFTER THEY TEST THE SYSTEM"...).Since we got over the installation procedure, having solar has been wonderful. If AWS had done the work properly and left the breaker on as THEY ALWAYS DO....NOT, we would be Net Generators for the year. They were wrong, but they didn't apologize or offer to cover the costs I paid as a result. No one ever expressed regret or regretfulness. They didn't even bother to admit that their email was wrong (they could have added a line about double-checking the breaker setting, just in case they DIDN'T DO WHAT THEY ALWAYS DO). I wasted about $500 on technical difficulties, and the customer support was horrible." - Robert
"Nothing new has occurred. AWS has chosen to disregard the issue entirely. I would advise you to steer clear of this firm if you value your personal sense of well-being." - Rob
"My recent experience with AWS Solar, who installed solar panels on my roof, was positive. The installation crew was efficient and careful, and they finished the work on time. The solar panels appear to be working properly, although I had hoped for greater explanation of the system's technical intricacies. Furthermore, post-installation assistance might have been enhanced. It's a mediocre service overall, but better customer service would boost its standing." - Martha
"Unfortunately, my time with AWS Solar was not a positive one. There was a serious lack of customer service, with slow replies and unclear information. Frustration built up since I had to try numerous times to receive installation schedule updates. There were also problems with the installation, and the crew didn't appear ready to deal with them effectively. Having better customer service would have made me choose a different solar supplier." - Valentine
"Almost two years ago, I had AWS Solar construct a 7 kilowatt solar array for me. When comparing their proposal to that of two other solar firms, I found that they offered the best combination of service quality and cost for solar panels. Very accommodating to my needs in terms of purchasing options and equipment, and they addressed several of my key concerns. We had a very seamless experience reserving our rebate, acquiring the necessary permits, installing, and passing inspection. The twenty-four dollar increase in my monthly power bill is well worth the money I spent. If you're looking to have a solar system installed, they come highly recommended from me." - Harold
"After considering bids from three different businesses, we have decided to have AWS Solar build our solar system. They also repaired the wall around the new electrical box and replaced the old one. It was a joy working with you throughout. They had our installation done swiftly, handled the necessary paperwork for our rebates and plans, and kept us in the loop the whole time. The installation crew that came out was kind, thorough, and tidy. AWS Solar is highly recommended by me." - Liz
"Simply wanted to reiterate my previous praise for AWS Solar. The true test of a reliable business is the quality of their after-sale support. Since installing my solar roof roughly two and a half years ago, AWS has never let me down. Tim helped me out with some solar system questions I had for another assignment. I recommended AWS Solar to my neighbors, and when they were fixing their system, they also found a problem with mine and called to let me know. When I didn't even know there was a problem, AWS Solar took care of it. The excellent service I've received has made me a loyal client." - Arnold
"It's hard to think that it's already been a couple of years since we had AWS Solar install 25 solar panels and a level 2 charger. I had no background in solar energy at the time. I researched various solar panel providers before settling on AWS Solar, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. They took the time to explain everything in detail, handled all of the licenses with the city, and had us up and running quickly. While I was home today working, the power went out in numerous rooms. This was rather strange, so I went to check the circuit breakers. The inverter's screen was blank, and the level 2 charger was beeping. I phoned Tim to see if he could help, and after he investigated for a few minutes, he suggested that I contact my electricity provider because there was clearly a problem with the power being delivered to my home. I called the electric company, and when they sent a technician out, I relayed Tim's opinion and described what had transpired. He laughed and replied, "We'll see," and Tim was proven correct. Tomorrow morning, I will have two technicians from the electricity company arrive to resolve the problem. Tim is prompt in his responses, kind in his manner, and not pushy in his service offerings. Years after he setup my system, he is still very responsive. Over the years, AWS Solar has gained my confidence, and I plan to keep turning to them for all of my future energy requirements." - Samuel
"Since October of 2022, we've been a regular client. We are very pleased with the work that AWS Solar did for us, from the planning through the installation, and with the support they provided. The reason I'm taking the time to write this review is that they have provided me with outstanding long-term and ongoing service. After receiving payment and moving past the first installation, many businesses abandon their professional and courteous demeanor. AWS Solar has not experienced this problem. We have had questions regarding our system and received prompt responses when we phoned. One of our panels has been producing zero electricity for the past week, so we contacted to have it looked at. Someone from AWS Solar was going to come check it out that afternoon, they claimed. They came over and looked at the panel on the second-story roof without ever entering the house. The issue was resolved in 10 minutes, after which we were told to give our mobile applications some time to reflect the change. If asked, I would gladly tell others about AWS Solar." - Russell
