We can laugh at Solgen. I'm now a solar convert and we settled on a design together. A month later, they returned with a new design-one I didn't love, but ultimately settled with. The installers were then sent with a design that was the third one I had already rejected. It took an additional 3 months to settle on a design that everyone could agree on while still producing the initial concept. Then the electrical part of the journey began. The electricity in its initial setup would not be up to code. I tried to help, but they refused my solution. The second attempt was similarly denied by L&I. I've asked Solgen five times to have the L&I inspector out here for a re-inspection, but they haven't gotten back to me yet. Maybe 5–10 different persons were involved in this struggle with me. Neither email nor phone calls were ever returned by the same individual. Maybe I have dissuaded someone from doing business with this sleazy outfit. It's important to note that none of the eight electricians I spoke with were at fault; rather, the problems stemmed from management. - Kane N.
Solgren first misled me about the solar panels when he tried to sell them to me. To begin, I politely requested three times, so I don't have to pay the electricity company any money from here on out," to which each time I was politely declined. However, I learned after the fact that I would still have to pay the cost of the utility company's meter. Second, I have not only received two invoices in the amounts of $70 and $91 for the months of November and December of 2022, but I also have to pay the meter. I requested that they come out and inspect my solar panels. I phoned them after receiving a second bill and they claimed something about not being connected to the internet, but they haven't been out to investigate the matter again. Two weeks have passed since then. The workers are now claiming that this number might go upward based on factors like weather and productivity. Compared to when I was just using the electricity provider, I am now paying more. My monthly solar panel costs have also increased. They failed to mention that my home would also be leaning! Become informed. With any luck, this may serve to warn others away from the trap I've fallen into. wasting money by increasing expenditures!" - Jonas K.
I asked for a loan, and they quoted me 3% and accepted it. I believed it was a fair price, so I signed the contract before another installer could contact me with a competing quote. That was $17,000 less than Solgen's proposal, the second one. Once I voiced my displeasure with the price, I received a revised offer approximately two hours later that was $17,000 cheaper with interest rates more than twice as high (7%). When I asked about lowering the interest rate to the amount that had been initially recommended, I was directed to get in touch with the lender. There was no trace of my authorized loan on file when I checked. Thank goodness, I was able to get out of the agreement. - Diego R.
Want to get robbed? Do what Solgen says. It ought to be their rallying cry. Apparent success with the system installation. Three weeks after its March installation, I learned that the system had failed at the height of summer. A phone call didn't come in. Nobody informed us. It was fixed" by the technicians who came out. When I questioned the panel output, they told me. They notified me, and I let them know that the amount was far less than what was agreed upon in my contract. They nodded, seemed shocked at my cost, and walked off. If this system is functioning correctly, I spent at least twice as much as what it would cost from a different provider. Don't be frightened away by their slimy salespeople; instead, do your homework. If you do, you'll never want to go with that person again. The one silver lining is that I'm not going crazy and that other people have had similar experiences. It's hard to imagine that actual humans are in charge of this firm." - Ben O.
They came to upgrade our panel on 08/06. Left a huge hole in my wall for over a month. Did not install the whole house GFCI, installed an oven fuse in that space instead, it fried my oven and the inspector won't sign off on the panel for over a month. Solgen blamed the power company for turning the power back on (even though Solgen called them and said it was ok to turn it on). Taking no responsibility, even though that electrician texted us to say that Inspection won't pass unless everything is labeled so everything that was labeled is the same I threw in a couple of names that weren't labeled so I wouldn't trust it 100%." Yet somehow it's not their issue. The roof has not been completed, for over one month. We've had multiple scheduled times for people to come out and they never show. We've had multiple times when no one was scheduled and they come with no warning." - Tony L.
I am happy with my decision to join the Solgen Power team. They took the time to ensure that my wife and I understood all of the options before making a final selection. They took care of all the paperwork and bureaucratic hoops, so we didn't have to worry about a thing. The municipal inspections slowed down the process of turning on the panels more than I would have wanted, but they were necessary. - Riken P.
The whole thing, from talking to the salesman to getting the drone footage, was really quick and straightforward. Getting panels made sense for obvious reasons, but I was nervous about the cost and the extra work involved, but the team at Solgen Power made it easy. Everyone was understanding and kept me in the loop even when we had to reschedule due to a few snags in the schedule and/or call the power company to come to repair a drooping power cable. The installers even showed up early on a Saturday to get the job done. All the planning and execution that went into this are remarkable. - Neil J.
My first experience with Solgen was frustrating, and I worried that I would never be able to switch to solar energy. My doubts and dissatisfaction with going with Solgen were growing, but then an awesome thing occurred. Lana, a Solgen salesperson, got things moving when I contacted the company. Lana gave me constant updates and made sure I was okay. Lana helped clear up a lot of my confusion by clarifying my inquiries and confirming my assumptions. To guarantee happy customers, she really went the extra mile. The staff was really helpful and informative. I'm pleased that I went with this firm to make my solar ambitions a reality. I think you will like it. Lana always gets back to me promptly, whether it's by email, text, or phone call. She has addressed my issues even while the office was closed. That's all I can say. This is a model of how to resolve a customer complaint to their satisfaction. - Oliver V.
It's true that you may improve the kitchen and the bathroom. We took a different path at first. I'm pleased that we choose to install solar panels to partly transition to a sustainable energy source and lessen our impact on the environment. Working with Solgen Power has been a pleasure from the beginning to the end. They are quick to respond to inquiries and provide constant assistance. I want to get back in touch with Solgen after we move into a larger home that can accommodate additional solar panels. Far too many upsides. Adding to the grid when you consume less than your panels gathered, a tax credit (still at 30%, which is wonderful if I decide to add more in 2021), a green energy source, a rise in property and resale value (the research is out there), and so on. Not to mention the firm they've collaborated with to provide you with detailed information on your energy use down to the individual appliances. The program can detect gadgets regardless of whether or not they are smart. Everything about this has left an impression on me. They'll deal with your homeowners' association if necessary, too. - Taylor J.
Over two years ago, I had Solgen Power install my system. Having it installed on my roof has further added to the positive impressions I have of the firm. Having it on my roof has routinely reduced my energy bill by $200–$250. The fact that it exists automatically and rescues me from trouble is appealing. The color green is also a plus in my book. I had a lot of concerns regarding submitting my tax return and getting the Federal credits, and Solgen was very helpful throughout the whole installation process and beyond. - Auke K.
