"In August of 2020, I signed a contract with Sunpower's contractor, esaSolar, since I had read that Sunpower was a reputable, well-established solar firm that manufactured its own equipment. About a dozen panels would fit on my roof, and I bought one of their Sunvault batteries as a backup. The system has been broken for almost seven months now. It seems like everything that could go wrong with this project has gone wrong: long delays in supply of batteries; the wrong number of roof-supports installed on our flat roof; engineers diagnosing faulty equipment and then not replacing it; departments not communicating with one another; intra-company emails accidentally forwarded to me; etc. However, they are wonderful neighbors. Perhaps someday I will find a solution that really works." - Tyler S.
"I found the company to be very challenging to deal with and highly dysfunctional. There were moments when they couldn't be counted on. I asked why they cut holes in the roof, and they said it didn't matter. Later, maintenance was needed to fix the holes. My bank account was almost overdrawn due to a double debit. A month after installation, certain features still aren't functioning properly." - Nicholas W.
"I was meant to get an installation from Covid when it first began. As a result of my lack of foresight, I canceled the installation and was charged $2,000. They haven't asked me when I'd want to resume payments in over two years, so I assume they're in the cancellation business." - Gavin A.
"Due to a double booking, my first appointment on 10/02 had to be postponed, and I was given a new time and date of 9:30 AM for the following day. On Thursday, October 1st, I was instructed to send that individual electronic copies of my monthly utility bills. There was nothing scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on the day of the meeting, so I sent him a text asking for the Zoom conference code. Zero feedback. Again, I texted to see whether we were still meeting but received no reply. There was no reaction to my two "??" It was quite unprofessional, so I contacted the main office to complain. Then, out of nowhere, I get a text telling me the meeting has been canceled due to an emergency at home. While I understand the need to prioritize family, it would have been better to warn the client at least an hour before the meeting was due to begin. The caller assured me she would escalate the issue and get back to me. It's been almost an hour now. Nothing has been spoken of or done as of yet. That I am not the first one to point this out is obvious. I can't decide what to make of this." - Mason R.
"They fail to follow through. The appointment that I had booked was canceled. The second time he indicated he'd be late, I didn't wait around for him, so I called to cancel our appointment. Chose a different provider. The men kept phoning me and I still can't get over how it was handled." - Evan S.
"We had ESA Solar build a SunPower 35-panel system, which is around 11.4KW in power. They completed the task in a nice and orderly manner and in approximately a month less time than was anticipated. The app and website for SunPower allow us to monitor our system's health at any time. We are pleased to have employed high-quality parts that achieved more efficiency than panels manufactured by other firms. SunPower, via ESA Solar, provides us with a comprehensive warranty, which is a major plus. If our technology ever fails to provide the desired results and needs warranty servicing, there should be no pointing fingers." - Samuel W.
"From our first solar consultation through the completion of the insulation, everything has been quick, easy, and stress-free. The esaSolar staff has always done an excellent job of responding to our inquiries and doing so promptly. The team's communication skills have been top-notch throughout the whole process. The panels look great, and we love how neat and tidy our roof is now. The workers were efficient and thorough in their job, and they even cleaned up the yard after any garbage or debris had been blown there during the installation process. This is a business that we would confidently refer to our closest friends and relatives." - Dylan F.
"Sun Power by esaSolar has provided me with a positive experience from beginning to end. They have top-notch energy experts on hand that are familiar with my specific power consumption and can advise me on which product would be best for me. Any other solar energy provider would not satisfy me. I give esaSolar five stars and would suggest them to anybody looking for their first solar panel installation." - Jonathan T.
"My energy needs are being met by ESA Solar, with whom OUC has contracted, and I am an OUC client. The salesperson was punctual, kind, and very well-versed in her field. Choosing a system and having it installed were both wonderful experiences. ESA does a great job of keeping its consumers informed and in the loop. Morgan is an asset to the company. I've been getting weekly Friday updates on the installation's status and upcoming steps. Received constant updates on the progress being made. Minor misunderstandings marred an otherwise enjoyable experience. The electrician was wonderful to deal with; he was well-informed, kind, and his work was impeccable. Also fantastic: the installers. From the installation of conduit to the positioning of solar panels, they take care to ensure that the final product is aesthetically beautiful. All inquiries were thoroughly addressed. Since the 20th of September, when I placed my system online, it has functioned without a hitch. Zero issues. Monitoring is fantastic. Depending on the amount of cloud cover, my system generates between 35 and 45 kWh daily. Cloudy days cause a temporary dip in the temperature. There is no question in my mind that I would hire ESA Solar to do another installation if I were to have to do this again. Overall, I was rather satisfied." - Caleb V.
"In 2020, I had my 12-kilowatt system installed. We also got the take-down package for the trash removal. We needed a new roof, but insurance complications made it impossible. My plans were taken down and put back up by ESA. I am relieved to hear that they would honor their agreement despite the fact that some roofing businesses have complained that solar panel installers are "putting their customers through the coals" when it comes to removal and reinstallation." - Lucas T.
