Bila Solar is Now Making Dual-Glass Bifacial Panels at the Indianapolis Factory

It’s a quiet revolution in the American heartland as Bila Solar officially commences production of its award-winning state-of-the-art Silicon Solar Panels in its highly advanced Indianapolis plant. It’s not just about assembling solar panels; it’s about building America’s clean energy future, one advanced panel at a time.

Emerging nationally, the Indianapolis factory owned by Bila Solar, which has refurbished the 157,000-sq-ft old plant of Eli Lilly, now makes a new series of high-performance framed, glass-glass bifacial solar panels. Although Bila Solar had earlier garnered media attention with its glassless and frameless products, this latest move, featuring framed, glass-glass bifacial versions, is crucial for expanding product lines and increasing market penetration.

“This is a game-changer moment for Bila Solar and for the entire U.S. clean energy sector,”

said Bila Solar Vice President and General Manager Mick McDaniel.

“Our Indianapolis facility indicates the strength of intelligent, visionary policy that returns manufacturing to America. We’re glad to be helping build America’s domestic supply chain, creating good-paying jobs, and driving American energy independence.”

These new 550-W dual-glass giants are not only powerful, they’re American. Significantly, they feature U.S.-made cells by ES Foundry, for which they qualify for the highly sought-after domestic content premium under existing ITC regulations. Not only does prioritizing an America-centric supply chain strengthen domestic energy self-reliance, but it also creates good jobs.

This ripple effect, resulting from Bila Solar’s investment, has already materialized, as the factory will support the creation of more than 75 advanced manufacturing jobs. Production was opened last week, and they’ve already hit some major milestones: 300 MW annually in Phase 1 capacity and will expand all the way through to a full 1 GW buildout. Bila Solar’s Indianapolis plant is more than a factory; it is a shining example of innovation and a reminder of the potential of America-based manufacturing to bring an independent and sustainable energy future to America.
