Caelux Ships First Commercial Order of Perovskite-Coated Glass

The solar industry’s future just got a little rosier! Caelux, a leader in US perovskite innovation, made a historic announcement: the first commercial shipment of its life-changing Active Glass product. It’s no ordinary glass; it’s a game-changing module component designed to transform ordinary silicon solar panels into high-powered, mass-producible tandem solar modules. This first shipment is destined for a high-profile American solar developer’s plant and originates from one of the world’s premier silicon solar panel manufacturers.

Caelux’s game-changing technology involves printing its proprietary perovskite material directly onto a face-attached piece of a glass-based solar panel. Why’s that a game-changer? It’s a very simple integration. It utilizes minimal-charging collection tape at bus stations, and therefore, no costly retooling or new infrastructure is required for installed module production lines. This hassle-free compatibility with industry-standard silicon solar technology created a Warp-Speed route to next-generation solar panels.

“Now we’re ready to start exporting our tech, a first step to changing solar into a tandem technology industry,”

Caelux’s Chief Executive Officer, Scott Graybeal, explained.

“The Caelux staff worked diligently to reach this wonderful milestone for Caelux and solar as a technology industry as well.”

Graybeal described this export as the start of crucial developments, continuing and pushing solar into its next revolution via Caelux’s advanced innovation. The Caelux perovskite technology’s performance is transformative. Power density can be increased by up to 30% and energy yields by 20% in integrated solar modules. Potentially, such gains in productivity can result in a breathtaking 20% cost reduction on a project basis, making solar power a more cost-competitive and widespread technology. This two-fold enhancement, which combines increased productivity and reduced costs, is a key driver of the widespread adoption of renewable energy.

“Caelux is commercializing technology that will enable our customers to accelerate their adoption of solar energy and make solar a leader among energy sources going forward,”

explained SVP of Sales & Marketing at Caelux, Aaron Thurlow. Caelux is truly proud to have its first commercial client and is ready to expand its client list globally.

From its Baldwin Park, California, suburb just outside Los Angeles, Caelux is leading American high-end solar materials production with a 100-MW perovskite-coated glass production facility. The commercial availability of Active Glass marks a turning point, as a new, cost-effective, and high-performance solar solution is poised to redefine the potential of photovoltaic technology.
