"We installed solar panels in February 2019. Our inverter broke in September 2019. Nova West monitored everything, so they would know "probably before us" if our system went down. Nova West was our only contact. The damaged inverter was replaced 20 days later. Nova West again failed to alert us when our inverter stopped operating for 30 days in July 2021. June 1, 2022, our inverter failed again. We informed Nova West again that we were down. Inverters were scarce and we would be approached again. They stated the issue might be fixed if a new SolarEdge program turns down some inverters. Agents investigated. I was advised the inverter was at blame. I heard nothing for a long time. I called again in October to see what had changed. The dealer promised to phone owner Rob Green. Later that night, Rob called to tell that he was also angry with SolarEdge but could do nothing about it. Rob promised to get a "loaner" inverter until mine was installed. The loaner returned a week later on the same day. Rob called me again after talking to the salesperson again. I was disappointed that my true up was over $3000 and my inverter took so long to fix. Rob offered to help us true up, but we should not call him until January. A technician repaired our inverter towards the end of October. I emailed for help on January 31 (true up showed on January 23). I never hear back. I asked what was going on on March 6th. My inverter failed for three years when I needed to make the most power. After receiving my email, Rob Green called later that day. Rob said "there is nothing he can do to help me" after selling the firm in November. He promised to contact Andrew, the new owner, and SolarEdge. Nobody has contacted me about my late true up. After all their inverter issues, I no longer trust Nova West. PG&E and my solar business are costing me money. I will go anyway. Avoid Nova West. Pictures and their contract prove they do not deliver. Their products and service are horrible. Share this with anybody contemplating solar energy." - Tom
"Nova West is the place to go if you are looking for a group of solar experts that are not afraid to throw caution to the wind and point the finger at others. Jack and Andrew never seem to agree on anything, and whenever they do, the person they need to speak to is either in a meeting or out of the office. And here I was, thinking those folks had it together enough to sell us a system some years ago. Definitely not recommending them now." - David
"Horrible to the extreme. It all began off in January. After cashing the deposit check for $1000.00, we did not hear from them for three months.I had to repeatedly call and email them for any kind of response at all. They came out to measure three times, but never once did they give us a heads up or explain what the problem was.Trash was left on the lawn when they finally began working in late April, and I also found hardware (screws, nuts, bolts, and washers) in my pool, all of which I had to remove. And then there were the ongoing power problems. There were four of my neighbors who were enthusiastic about getting solar panels.I informed them that there is no other firm in the world that I would ever recommend.I was forced to offer them a one-star review after being highly dissatisfied with their subpar customer service and overall lack of customer care." - Genevieve
"I just cannot endorse this firm. The water pipes they damaged were not properly communicated with or repaired. PG&E was meant to combine both of our meters but was given the erroneous meter number. No response to my emails or phone calls. Do not use that outfit!" - Stella
"They are a useless bunch. As of this moment, they understood they had no clue how to aggregate solar energy with PG&E. Not a good idea at all." - Paul
"Nova West Solar is a hometown firm with an international outlook. When it comes to solar, they are experts. They have access to both a roofing expert and an experienced electrician. The installers were punctual, polite, and tidy. After the job was done, there was not even a trace of the packing materials that had been lying about the yard. It is great having Andrew as the office manager. He is helpful and well-versed in solar energy. He is OK with being called five times a week. (I can state with certainty that.) Even now, over two years after installing our system, Andrew consistently provides outstanding support. He is the lynchpin of this operation, in my opinion. Nova West is an excellent choice for installing solar panels." - Dave
"What a fantastic organization! What an amazing time we had! They come with our highest recommendation. We have recommended Nova West to friends and family who have also gone solar and had a great experience. All members of their crew were kind and professional at all times. They never failed to appear at the appointed time. We have never experienced better service for a home improvement project." - Lucy
"We started looking for the sun approximately a year ago. We were searching for a smaller house that already had solar panels installed. We discovered a house we liked, but it did not have solar panels, so we started looking for some. Our solar-using relatives, buddies, and neighbors were consulted. The name Nova West was proposed. Our best decision ever! We did get cheaper estimates from competitors, but in the end, it was Nova West's team and their product that won us over. Andrew, Gary, and the rest of the crew are always kind and informative, and they never make us feel hurried or forced into making a purchase. They were kind and accommodating of our family emergency delay. We requested and got many bids, and when we compared them, we found that Nova West offered the best combination of competitive pricing (excellent value) and comprehensive coverage (best warranty package). Talk to Andrew at Nova West about your solar options before making a final choice. For Everyone at Nova West, Thank You Very Much You are the greatest there is, really. Once again, I appreciate it. " - Don
"Before deciding on Nova West to install Panasonic panels, I performed extensive research and interviewed many solar contractors. While we have not had much time to evaluate the equipment's efficacy as we just finished installing it in July, our PGE power statement for August showed significant savings, so it seems to be doing its job. The installation, engineering, and internal employees of Nova West performed a fantastic job as well, finishing the work on schedule and with professionalism. Communication was the one area where I felt the most frustration. There are a lot of factors to consider and money involved in this endeavor. If I had been given more information and my expectations had been made clearer, I would have felt more at ease as a client. We did not know what was going on for a few weeks after the installation was finished. Perhaps it is because I am a relic of the past, but I still want to hear "thank you" from a salesman after a successful transaction. Having said that, I am certain that we made the right decision in dealing with a reputable firm and high-quality goods." - Sheldon
"The most essential thing I can say in this review is: CALL BALKAR AT NOVAWEST if you want an incredible system from a man who understands what he is talking about and delivers on his promises. I, like most people who spend a significant amount of money on a solar system, conducted a lot of research on panels and firms before inviting 9 of them out to give me prices. I was looking for the highest quality panels installed by a trustworthy business at a reasonable cost. A 25-year guarantee on the company's panel manufacture was another something I was looking for. NovaWest and oethe other one (they do not deserve a mention) were the only two firms that stood out among the cheaper choices in terms of dependability, system specifications, guarantee, etc. And I first went with "the other one" since I fell for their tricks. Balkar at NovaWest was the only one who was honest with me after I had been lied to and neglected for four months by the other people. My system was installed on my roof in 45 days, and I began collecting money from it before summer even started. Balkar's assessment of my roof and system's productivity was spot on. He was completely true to his word. In Clovis, with a pool, my air conditioner was running 24/7 and cost me just $18.48 in electricity costs. Even though I started generating money in March because to NovaWest's lightning-fast system deployment, I still had true-up credits to utilize." - Michael
