"Dissatisfied with Photon Brothers' Project Management. Based on my research and reviews, I agreed to have Photon Brothers install 8 extra Tesla solar panels (I previously had 18 panels) and a Tesla Powerwall+ in December 2021. Shortly after signing, I was informed that I would be assigned a "Project Manager," who would serve as the primary point of contact and coordination for the process. A weather meter on my roof was broken by the technician's ladder during the Photon Brothers pre-install site check on January 18, 2022. I was promised repayment by the Photon Brothers Project Manager, but this has not happened. The installation was first scheduled for March, then April, May, and June. On July 23, 2022, the panels and Powerwall+ were installed. Although the physical installation of the panels, secondary breaker panel, inverter, and Powerwall+ looked to be flawless, I soon discovered that the Tesla app was not accurately reporting power use by my home. Despite delivering many images of power use issues in the Tesla app and multiple requests to Project Management to address, this has yet to be resolved. The county inspection appointment was set for July 6, but it had to be canceled because Photon Brothers found that they had provided the county with an inaccurate installation configuration. I've been waiting for the county inspection/approval for over 5 weeks now. I will not receive credit for the power that my new panels are now sending back to the grid until the county inspects. There has been no information on when the inspection will take place. On Monday, July 25, a Photon Brothers specialist was scheduled to visit our home to resolve the Tesla app power utilization problem. He was expected to come between 1-3pm, however that was pushed out to 3-4pm. The technician eventually arrived around 7:10 p.m., with no apologies, but because we were leaving soon, we requested him to reschedule. Since signing the contract, Photon Brothers Project Management has been reactive rather than proactive in their communication. In several cases, responses to questions took more than two weeks. We have not heard from the Project Manager in over 4 days to reschedule the Tesla app fix and/or county inspection, despite repeated emails from us since they missed the two appointment dates. Be wary, unless you like excessive delays and inactivity. I feel the two stars I awarded them are fair. - - michael

"I want to provide a recent update after reading all the positive evaluations of this firm, so that people may assess the advantages and disadvantages of this business at this moment. I should also mention that I work in renewable energy. Over the last six years, I conducted a thorough investigation of solar firms and felt like I had finally discovered the greatest one. I have been quite unsatisfied with my experience so far and am extremely concerned about how my system will be handled going forward. Pros 1: The finance choices are the finest I've seen, to start! Along with reading all of the positive reviews, this was really the major reason I choose this organization. Pros 2 : They responded by assigning me a different team that was more receptive when I expressed my worries about the problems I experienced (see below under the cons). It's wonderful to see that a business is prepared to address valid issues. Pros 3 : They made the permission procedure for me extremely simple. Con 1: The major difficulty is in communicating: The first design that was submitted to me for approval had panels on a finished shaded roof, which made communication difficult at first. Fortunately, I was paying attention and challenged the design, leading to their admission of their error. Everyone makes mistakes, and the error was corrected, but it was difficult to communicate about this. At the end of the project, they neglected to inform me that they gave me loan paperwork to sign that would begin my loan payments before my system was prepared to do so. As a result, I will be paying two power bills—my solar loan payment and my Excel bill—for the next few months as I wait for the system to pass final inspections. What a disaster. Con 2: Schedule - they are just overloaded. Just be aware of this going in. Installation won't probably take place for a while. Con 3: Coordination is terrible. I advise paying the price to have an old electrical panel fixed if you have one. Both their disorganization and lack of cooperation with one another and me are somewhat to blame. My panels have been on my roof since July, and after several trips by various electricians to try to get this thing operating, they are still not connected to the grid." - Christine Sholar

"Thank you very much, Photon Brothers.My wife and I spent a long time researching solar energy providers before deciding on Photon Brothers. We chose Photon Brothers after receiving multiple quotations and reading numerous reviews since they have a wonderful reputation, a terrific price per kW installed, and are a local small business. They installed panels for us in March, and we have had no issues with our system since then. The panels look amazing and are quite contemporary, and the monitoring software is really simple to use. We recently needed to alter our system a little to have our monitoring data transferred over LAN rather than mobile data approximately 6 months after our installation was completed, and they were really fast and helpful in having this done for us. Nate, a Service Manager, in particular, coordinated the logistics and did an excellent job of ensuring we were satisfied with the service, and Mike, the technician who came to our home, arrived on time, was very nice, polite, and professional, and went above and beyond to make the wiring on the outside of the house he had to work with look nice and tidy. I also want to thank Amanda, who was our main point of contact throughout the process, and John Johnson, who we dealt with early on during the proposal phase and who was very knowledgable, really lovely to work with, and helped us spec out the finest solar system for our requirements. "Couldn't be happier! I have had my Sunpower system installed by the Photon Bros. for more than two years, and I could not be happier with the results. Prior to installing my system, my monthly expenses ranged from $250 to $500 depending on the season. I spent $63 for my power for the WHOLE YEAR last year (yep, last YEAR!). My charge for the previous month was $2.02, and it never gets old. Working with the Photon Brothers is a pleasure. When you speak to an installation rather than a salesman, it truly makes a difference. They sell the best panels and are skilled at what they do.
