It was foolish to have faith in this company. A month ago, our system suddenly stopped working (no power generation), and the inverter (the brains of the solar system) displayed the error message "Error 18xB7 HW ERROR." Because of the guarantee, we thought YSG Solar may be of assistance. After the inverter manufacturer ignored my emails for two weeks, I contacted them personally. We were only given a 12-year inverter guarantee, rather than the standard 25-year manufacturer's warranty that also covers labor and performance. Having someone else install the inverter would cost us two thousand dollars, and we had to set up the RMA ourselves. After the BBB got involved, we finally got a response from YSGSolar, but it was all lies and empty "let us know how we can help" pledges, and they still won't talk to us. After been promised 25 years of silent power generation, we have instead been forced to pay $2,000, request arbitration, and make do with scant support. After reading the comments, I consider our current situation to be a miracle. The only positive thing I have to say about them is that we got fortunate and completed our system, otherwise I would have given them negative stars if I could. Don't waste your money on YSGSolar; they make false promises and provide terrible customer support. You may save money by changing installers." - Patryk
"Don't do business with this outfit! Installation that should have taken two weeks took them eight! This company has the worst customer service I've ever encountered. Good luck getting servicing done, if you need it! Even after complaining to the BBB, this company has failed to provide any assistance. No solar-related property tax credit has been issued to me yet since a permit for their 2018 installation is still pending. Today is December 31, 2021! "In 2019, Salvatore Coretto chose YSG Solar for his panel services. Equipment was introduced and offered simply. I approve. Next came the fall. Equipment sold never arrived. Service stopped when I got a less productive panel. Calling the firm became worse. Emails seem unending and unanswered. Finally discovered the firm runs on their own timetable and never lets you talk to a real representative. Condescending and unpleasant chat support. They're told to sell without meeting standards. I kept complaining that the system wasn't properly installed. Since installation, panel mapping and inverter communication have been flawed. After hiring a contractor to install the panels late at night, they don't examine the work. My neighbors complained about the noise. Enphase now reboots and configures my panels daily. I got a leak 2 1/2 months ago and am still trying to figure out what to do since YSG doesn't reply calls or have enough people to process the claim. Two of YSG's highly rated contractors assessed the damage and found that the roof and installation weren't up to code. The roof was destroyed because appropriate installation was overlooked. They wrecked my roof, disregarded my plea for 2 1/2 years, and should not be allowed to install panels in NY or the US. "I can't remember dealing with a less professional business. It's strange that their ineptitude is nearly equaled by their rudeness and haughtiness. In July of 2019, I placed an order for solar panels from YSG. Those panels covered an entire Brooklyn roof. The total cost of installing 26 panels is about $26,000 (not including rebates, etc.). It is currently February of 2021, and YSG has not yet finished the project. They have failed to keep several commitments and appointments. I have been communicating with this firm for about two years via phone, email, yelling, and fighting. Employee after employee has quit because they were so unhappy working here. David Magid, the CEO, avoids any direct contact with clients. He ducks behind his support team and lets them absorb the hit. As a group, YSG is a sham.
