Enphase Energy commenced commercial shipments of IQ Battery 5P, exported from U.S. factory sites, with higher domestic content compared to existing versions. The higher domestic content batteries meet new mandates within the U.S. federal appropriations act, signed on July 4, 2025, with a retroactive effect to a 45% U.S.-origin material requirement for products sold since June 16, 2025, for batteries and solar.
To qualify for important federal tax incentives, products are required to meet a threshold that rises to 50% by 2026 and 55% by 2027, after which the rate becomes effective. The new 5P configurations with “DOM” SKUs (IQBATTERY-5P-1P-NA-DOM) are being assembled now to meet these higher thresholds – higher ones to 45% standard, but those to be phased to be applied to future levels – by virtue of their heavy U.S.-sourced contents. The batteries are facilitating work and manufacturing within America and a healthy domestic supply base.
The 5P by IQ by Enphase is a 5 kWh capacity, modular system that can be installed with Enphase Microinverters, part of the next-gen lineup called Enphase IQ8, to provide homeowners with backup power that they can utilize at any time. Homeowners are also provided with the Enphase App, which allows them to view their system’s performance and smartly manage their battery systems, including their own self-consumption feature, which enables them to draw less from the grid.
“We are proud to offer U.S. shipments with higher domestic content IQ Battery 5P,”
stated Ken Fong, senior VP and general manager Americas and APAC, Enphase Energy.
“The IQ Battery 5P provides best-of-industry reliability, and with domestic content to qualify to meet new federal regulations, our authorized installer partners are better positioned to benefit from federal tax credits, expand their own businesses, and offer energy storage to even more U.S. residential customers.”
