Alternate Energy Company review

"Into the void and beyond!.... OVER the bad project delivery and customer service from this firm. They made too many promises and haven't kept any of them. They fail to update their clients on the status of their projects. It took us a long time to install solar panels on our roof. The company's last-minute cancellations and permission rejections due to petty faults pushed delayed the start of the project by months. There was zero customer service savvy and zero desire to empathize. When a call is shifted from one department to another, there is no explanation of the status of the project or the reason for the transfer. The promised supervisor callback almost never occurred. It was shockingly common for customer service reps to have a bad attitude while answering calls. There's been zero interest in explaining the delay. Do not invest in this business. "It's been 8 months since the contract was signed. They are terrible at communication, not answering calls, texts, or emails. When they finally came out to start work in August, we were told it would take 3 days. Wrong, they came back a week later to finish the job, but to no avail. I called them the next week to see what was going on. And the project manager said: "I don't know what to tell you. What, I'm spending $50,000. We're still waiting for this nightmare to be over." - Colton O.

"After having this solar for little over a year, I have reached out to many different managers. To begin with, for over a year, three of my panels that were supposed to be "monitored" by Alternate Energy Company were inoperable. Their monitoring system revealed the non-functioning panels whereas mine did not. Second, the installers would leave the company's headquarters travel the nine hours to my residence, where they would then labor for 11 hours a day. Due to exhaustion, work errors increased among staff members. Due to improper installation, I had to replace my whole living room's ceiling. Third, I was charged $1000 for the year's worth of power despite the fact that the manager assured me the system would meet all of my needs. I paid close to $45,000 with this firm for a 10KW system. "I've never had service this bad. I had my system put in place three years ago, and ever since then, I've gotten a massive bill that just seems to grow higher from there. Several phone calls to Alternate Energy Company have been made by me already. There has been no response to our calls, and no action has been taken. Have repeatedly requested a management call and received no response. They informed me I had enough panels to reduce my monthly payment. The opposite is true. I cannot think of a worse business to have dealt with." - Parker J.

"My experience with this firm has not been the most professional. Been waiting for over three weeks for a response to a messed-up installation. What was installed on my roof was different from what I authorized. Nobody bothered to tell me that the city had requested certain modifications to the blueprints. The firm representative also neglected to specify the location of the conduit lines and converter box during the sight inspection. The installers, I must add, were decent human beings doing an honest trade. The front desk staff has to be more open and attentive if I am to suggest this business to my friends and family." - Sean T.
